Job Description Summary :
Will handle most clerical duties associated with a medical clinic.
The job of Patient Services Specialist (PSS) is divided into stations. Each station has a distinct set of job duties, which includes job duties that usually are performed by one employee in a usual day.
However, in addition to the usual duties of the station they are sitting in, every PSS employee is required and expected to assist their co-workers in performing every job duty of a PSS at all times.
All employees hired for the Patient Services Specialist position will be expected to learn and perform all duties of all front office stations.
Due to the different office layouts, the person doing the named station that day or week may not perform some of the listed job duties.
Demonstrated strong copywriting and editing skills are essential. Requires attention to detail and the ability to consistently meet time-sensitive priorities.
Must be highly organized with the ability to be flexible, according to changing priorities.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Position Qualifications / Requirements
Education :
High School Diploma / GED required.
Previous Experience :
- Experience in the healthcare field is highly preferred. Attention to detail with strong ability to multitask. Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills with a wide variety of personalities.

Position Summary :
To be the subject matter expert on training new staff and / or retraining existing staff, offering support to staff during training, and acting as an advocate for change of necessary policies.
To ensure uniformity and adherence to policies throughout the organization.
- Will demonstrate a thorough and detailed understanding of all SOP’s to ensure that they are applied appropriately during the training process.
- Will be responsible for overseeing training of staff from various locations, both in person and via webinar.
- Will be expected to assist in other areas when requested to ensure proper training is delivered.
- Extensive travel, including extended stays could be required.
Required Qualifications :
- Minimum of 3 years of MA experience that includes specific experience running a clinic lab is required.
- Strong knowledge of Electronic medical record (EMR) software required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Will handle most clerical duties associated with a medical clinic including : -
Scheduling new and follow-up patient appointments. -
Check in patients as they arrive, verify information, collect co-payments, verify demographic information. -
Answer calls promptly and retrieve messages. -
Schedule follow-up appointments for clinic and / or outside testing. -
Collect co-payments. -
Assemble all new patient and hospital follow-up charts. -
Distribute faxes promptly. Checks server periodically for new faxes. -
Reviews schedule and checks for all tests and / or referrals ordered from doctor. -
Checks in chart and electronic medical record (EMR) for documents. -
Completes medical records.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in the healthcare field working as a medical receptionist is highly preferred. -
Attention to detail with strong ability to multitask. -
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. -
Strong computer skills required. -
Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is preferred.
