Specific Duties :
Receive and respond to prescription inquiries from all communication venues : e.g. phone, Telephone Encounter, department e-mail or fax
Verifies validity of prescription requests received
Follow enterprise medication refill protocols
Document each transaction thoroughly and accurately
Utilize the electronic medical record to access and document information
Answer / place outbound other types of calls as needed
Exhibits excellent customer service skills while providing complete and accurate information to customers
Adheres to assigned schedule and quality metrics
Must have qualifications / experience :
Certified Medical Assistant
2-3 years minimum MA experience
Demonstrate understanding of scope of practice
Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of various relevant insurance programs / products (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, United Healthcare, etc.)
Ability to work in a structured call center environment / schedule
Medical Office Experience

Specific Duties :
Using established criteria and guidelines, the pharmacy technician receives and processes prior authorization requests made by providers and members for medications not inherently covered on a member's prescription drug plan.
Answer prior authorization inquiry calls or / and faxes as well as research and resolve formulary and benefit issues using the appropriate reference material.
Resolve issues and complaints in a timely manner.
Handles inbound phone requests and gathers member data to provide information for Pharmacist consultations.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Must have qualifications / experience :
High School Graduate or GED
National License accepted : ExCPT Pharmacy Technician Certification with National Healthcareer Association (NHA), The National Board of Prior Authorization Specialist, and Pharmacy Technicians Certification Board (PTCB)

Work Environment Criteria :
Candidate must have their own home internet access / VPN (internet can be hard wired with Ethernet cord)
Candidate must also have a secure work space / office in their home
Candidates must have level skill with working with PCs (ex. using mouse and keyboard, accessing and navigating through multiple systems and screens)
Excellent Attendance is a must
Shift Start / End Time :
Training is for 4 weeks. Training time is 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm. Monday- Friday. This training time is subject to change
Shift after training is an 8 hour shift with an hour lunch. Candidates must be available as early as 5am and as late as midnight.
Candidates will work 5 days a week which may or may not include a weekend day(s).
There is scheduled Overtime and working on Holidays. Depending on business needs, candidates could work up to 4 hours a day OT.
