Job Purpose :

The Medical Receptionist (MR) is the first point of contact between patients and DCUC. A positive approach to your duties and exceptional customer service are critical to the success of the entire visit.

Primary Duties :

• Responsibilities include greeting patients and office operations, such as answering telephones, printing, copying, faxing, scanning, processing payments, and ensuring accuracy of data entry when obtaining patient information.
• Completing accurate patient registration process by inputting patient demographics and financial information.
• Verifying insurance eligibility and relaying relevant information on payment, billing and collection processes and policies.
• Handling all forms of payment including cash and maintaining a balanced drawer.
• Obtaining signatures on all required documents.
• Maintaining a clean, sanitized, and organized work area.

Overview / Job Purpose

The Pediatric MA's primary purpose is to monitor patient flow to ensure maximum efficiency while providing fast, friendly, quality patient care.

The Pediatric MA must establish and maintain good rapport and effective working relationships with patients, visitors, and DCPC employees.

The Pediatric MA performs skills such as wound care and splint application and assists with additional procedures to support the clinical team.

The Pediatric MA is also responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and well-stocked patient care and clinical areas while assuring adherence to applicable policies and procedures.

Summary of Duties :

As a Pediatric Medical Assistant at Duke City Primary Care, your day-to-day duties may include, but are not limited to, the various tasks below :

• Assist the nurse and other support staff in the management and observation of all patients in the clinic.
• Identify and assess patients presenting with clinical symptoms requiring additional intervention and promptly notify a nurse and / or provider.
• Provide oxygen therapy, IV set up, catheterization, suctioning; cardiac monitor application, and basic assessments under the supervision of RN or attending provider as requested.
• Demonstrate proactive approach to patient and staff safety by seeking opportunities to improve safety through questioning of current policies and processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
