DLR Group is seeking a talented graphic designer to join an in-house team that aims to transform the model of marketing communications in the A / E / C industry.

DLR Group operates within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home.

Locations : Sacramento, Dallas, Los Angeles, Omaha, Orlando, or Phoenix

Position Summary

As a Graphic Designer, you will join DLR Group’s in-house marketing and communications team to create compelling B2B visual narratives and assets.

You will be a champion of the DLR Group brand, maintaining its integrity while creatively adapting the brand palette to suit diverse marketing and storytelling goals.

You will collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary marketing and brand team; co-own our brand integrity with fellow graphic designers;

and be supported by the Brand Communications Leader and Graphic Design Leader.

The Successful Candidate :

  • Leads stakeholders and collaborators through creative processes
  • Actively helps stakeholders develop their story from the ground up, with emphasis on identifying and proposing ways that visual storytelling can support their goals
  • Communicates clearly, actively, and effectively; and excels at conveying the value propositions of design ideas and solutions
  • Thrives working with a single brand palette, pushing creativity within a unified brand identity
  • Is as passionate about the details in building design assets as iterating big picture creative concepts.
  • Manages multiple, diverse concurrent projects to meet deadlines with design excellence

Required Qualifications :

  • 4-6 years of graphic design experience with an in-house team or creative agency
  • A compelling portfolio of B2B marketing, communications, and / or editorial design and layout work
  • Experience with diverse deliverables, including but not limited to long-form layouts; brochures and reports; infographics and diagrams;

social media and web assets; slide presentations; brochures; trade event materials; and websites

  • Expert InDesign skills. This will be essential for work supporting our marketing teams
  • Expertise in other fundamental design tools, including but not limited to : Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.

email platforms such as Mailchimp; PowerPoint; and website builders

Confidence, self-discipline, and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model and across multiple time zones

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Design experience serving professional services firms (specifically marketing)
  • Experience with creating motion graphics (and related design tools) is desirable
  • Experience in UI / UX design (and related design tools) is beneficial
  • Experience with HTML / CSS (particularly building or modifying emailer templates, WordPress sites, SharePoint intranet pages, and similar)

As an Administrative Assistant at DLR Group you will be our director of first impressions and the main contact for our visitors and vendors.

You will be responsible for providing a welcoming environment to all visitors, vendors, clients, and consultants. In addition, you will assist with meeting coordination, presentation set-up and break down, performing miscellaneous administrative tasks, overall office organization and chip in with project-based support as time permits.

The successful candidate will :

  • Greet all visitors and vendors, as the face of the office
  • Answer all incoming general office calls.
  • Coordinate with outside consultant and trade vendors on payables and account statements
  • Coordinate conference rooms, events, and meetings.
  • Manage inventory of office and kitchenette supplies.
  • Make travel reservations, manage office calendars, and distribute mail.
  • Manage coordination with vendors.
  • Distribute relevant information to staff regarding local activities and events.
  • Maintain overall office organization and cleanliness.
  • Provide project-based support for various firm projects. These may include : Writing meeting minutes or agendas Input team responses into document management software Archive or organize project documentation Create spreadsheets from specific project data Assist with preparing contracts

Required Qualifications :

  • 3 or more years of experience in relevant customer facing service role (i.e. administrative assistant or receptionist)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of general business procedures and use of office equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proactive, independent thinker possessing a high attention to detail and ability to prioritize.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in architecture, engineering, or construction (A / E / C) industry.
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam
  • Experience and knowledge using AIA software
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service environment.

Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer at DLR Group you will be responsible for the design of mechanical systems from schematics through construction administration on a wide range of building types.

As part of our integrated design teams you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design. You would be responsible for participating in the design process of mechanical building systems and preparing detailed and mechanical engineering design calculations and drawings to code.

The successful candidate will :

  • Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
  • Develop HVAC designs from concept through completion of construction.
  • Prepare engineering design calculations and mechanical system layouts.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
  • Coordinate HVAC design requirements with architecture, structure and other disciplines.
  • Support business development initiatives by assisting the RFP process and interview process.
  • Actively engage in community and / or industry-specific organizations that will build the DLR Group brand.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with direct client contact and fostering those relationships
  • 8+ years of experience in a MEP firm working on systems for educational projects (K-12 and Higher Education) or Justice + Civic Projects,
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer designing HVAC building systems on complex projects.
  • Professional Engineering license (P.E. / PE)

Preferred Qualifications :

  • LEED Accredited Professional and previous experience participating in the LEED or other green rating system process.
  • Experience and interest in sustainable building design.
  • An appreciation and understanding of architectural design and how architects work and think.
  • Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit MEP) work flow.
