Role Purpose :

Responsible for operating powered clamp equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting product.

Responsible for checking all inbound and outbound products. Ensures products are free of damage and infestation, product code dates are properly recorded and products match customer requirements.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using clamp equipment 80% of specified shift.
  • Pull and prepare product for shipment ensuring the exact number and types of product is loaded
  • Keep appropriate records and reports for inventory accuracy.
  • Comply with all OSHA and MSDS standards.
  • Verify load accuracy; check the load count, stability, and product damage, report variances as necessary.
  • Change equipment battery or LP tank and monitor power source as necessary.
  • Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Assist in physical inventories.
  • Complete daily inspection of equipment.

Required Education and Experience :

  • Forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
  • Six months warehouse experience, preferred
  • Six months forklift operation experience

Standard Forwarding, a DHL Freight US company, is a top-quality LTL carrier with 14 terminals spread throughout the Midwest.

We provide overnight service within and between Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana and Minnesota.

We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor / Dispatcher who will be responsible for the supervision and execution of the inbound dock operation, daily dispatch, and outbound operation.

This position will be located at our Forest View, IL office. Required work hours Monday - Friday 10am 8pm

Essential Functions

  • Communicates needs of the operation to ensure service directives of Standard Forwarding / DHL Freight US customers are met.
  • Evaluate alternatives and utilize discretion when making independent decisions regarding the operation.
  • Responsible for monitoring and execution of the pick-up and delivery operation.
  • Assign pick-ups throughout the day based on the least cost scheduling to the driver fleet.
  • Provide updates to Wisconsin Terminal Manager including but not limited to : personnel needs, bid adjustments, equipment repair and maintenance, supply needs, disciplinary follow through and progressive discipline visibility.
  • Required to observe and comply with all federal, state, and local laws and / or Standard Forwarding / DHL Freight including company policy concerning safety, claims prevention, and hours of service.

Skills / Requirements :

  • Strong operational background with an LTL carrier required
  • Must be knowledgeable of hazardous materials and the paperwork, handling, placarding and storage
  • Ability to coach, mentor and train drivers to improve work performance and morale.
  • Ability to recognize, reward and reinforce good performance.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, data management and problem solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, word, PowerPoint and project Management software
  • Customer centric approach

We are currently hiring a Courier / Dockworkers . As a Courier / Dockworker you would follow standard company procedures and safety requirements to pick up and deliver time sensitive materials in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Under tight deadlines, drives vehicle to customer sites, climbs in and out of vehicle, and walks up and down stairs as required to pick up and deliver documents and packages to and from customers according to established procedures, in all weather conditions
  • Picks up, handles and delivers time sensitive documents and packages in a safe and punctual manner considering traffic patterns, alternative routes, traffic regulations, and driving conditions in order to meet customer and DHL time requirements
  • Ensures all delivery material received is safely delivered to correct consignee
  • Operates a scanner to record shipping and package information for documents / packages picked up or delivered
  • Maintains good work habits, including reporting to work on time and adhering to standard work and safety procedures
  • Reports any suspected breach of security or unusual happenings to supervisor immediately
  • May assist supervisor in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower level courier
  • May assist supervisor in performing check rides to review performance and the proper use of routes and practices

Skills & Qualifications :

  • Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets Driving Privileges standards
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent GED
  • Must be 18+ years old / 21+ years old for CDL position
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Map reading skills and knowledge of delivery area preferred
  • Previous professional driving experience, preferably in a delivery role
  • Candidate must pass pre-employment background, drug and medical physical screening

Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to lift up to seventy lbs occasionally
  • Must be able to lift forty lbs fr equently

This position will be based in the New Orleans, LA location. This position is supporting the Ocean Bulk department at DHL Global Forwarding.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Managing and working with a small crew to complete daily tasks correctly and efficiently
  • Perform liquid product transfers to and from railcar / road tankers.
  • Perform product transfers using pump equipment including gas pumps, trash pumps, etc.
  • Install and remove container fitting equipment from inside 20’ shipping containers.
  • Maintaining a clean warehouse and completing inventory tasks.
  • Provide technical assistance with customers including monitoring load attendance.

Skills / Requirements :

  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work competently using drills, pipe wrenches, etc.
  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Ability to regularly lift heavy weight (75 to lbs)
  • Able to drive a forklift, drive a Yard truck with a 20’ trailer, and operate pump equipment
