As a Aircraft Painter - Corporate Aviation you will,
Responsibilities :
Applies aerodynamic sealer, and masks the aircraft using tapes and paper products (to protect windows, seals, struts, cables, etc.
in preparation for the paint process.
- Mixes, blends and thins paint products, per the manufacturers’ maintenance manual specifications.
- Applies paint to the aircraft interior and exterior surfaces. (Paints include : urethanes, acrylic urethanes, enamels, lacquers and epoxy paints.)
- Interprets specifications, color sketches, and instructions and plans sequences, and times the paint operation. This includes mixing ratios, surface preparation, papering and masking, drying time, number of coats, etc.)
- Maintains painting supplies and equipment, including spray guns, air hoses, pumps, paper, and tape.
- Documents all work accomplished (a.k.a. sign-off) in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
- Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, promoting and continuously improving company policies and procedures.
- Works fair share of overtime and travels to customer locations or other Standard Aero facilities as required.
- Observes all safety, environmental and general housekeeping rules and policies.
- May perform other duties as required by the department
- Is able to minimize rework through proficiency in paint preparation and application.
Requirements :
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years related experience.
Preferred :
- Knowledge of all types of paints and thinners.
- Physical Requirements;
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, walk, bend, stretch, and climb ladders.
- Must have the ability to manipulate equipment of all sizes, tools, computer keyboards, and telephones.
- Must be able to see to disassemble and visually inspect.
- Must have excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
- Must be able to be respirator qualified.

General Accountability
- Accountable for team response on flight / product safety critical parts and processes
- Participates in proactive risk analysis of flight / product safety critical parts and processes
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices / conditions.
- Responsible for directing operational compliance to Company Process (CP) documentation
- Liaison with Enterprise Manufacturing sites regarding component repairs, inspection and compliance
- Drive best practice and business improvement opportunities through an Enterprise Network of Aerospace Professionals

- Focal for multi-discipline OEM technical reviews, CAR / NCT actions
- Focal for multi-discipline FMEA Project Definition

Process Control and Improvement

- Investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies relating to equipment and processes to reduce variation and improve reliability.
Other
- Coordinates and interacts with the outside resources including contractors, equipment vendors, and supply vendors for process support, improvement, or repair development.
- Provides support, technical expertise and experience to the Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) necessary to make airworthiness engineering decisions.
- Remains current with state-of the-art technologies and processes.

- Carries out special projects as assigned.
Technical Requirements
- Working knowledge of 14 CFR 21, 43, 45, 121, 145 and Industry standards (AC7108, AC7109, AC7200, etc) for Chemical Process - Stripping, Cleaning, Plating, Painting and Sealants
- Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Thorough knowledge of company process, company instruction and rework process instruction manuals.
- Thorough knowledge of aerospace materials and processes.
- In jurisdictions governed by a regulatory body or with an association that is governed by local legal requirements, registration is required.
- University degree in metallurgy, mechanical or chemical engineering; or equivalent.
- Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing process engineering environment.
Background Information

Welder II (Honeycomb) 2nd Shift
Job Description
Responsible for TIG Welding and performing maintenance and alteration tasks on components in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Service Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the Aviation Authority as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
General :
- Responsible to be thoroughly familiar with all tools and equipment, including inspection aids, used within their assigned area of responsibility.
- Properly record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance record, router.
- Observes and follows all safety procedures while using appropriate safety equipment when applicable.
- Performs grinding and blending with different pneumatic, electric and hand tools.
- Conducts repair of sheet metal or composite surfaces, check for corrosion, distortion and cracks.
- Performs visual inspections and make necessary adjustment to conform to job specifications
- Set up and operate all common Welding machine equipment.
- Works from blue prints, drawings and or Technical manuals to produce a variety of items
- Daily inspection, Cleaning and Preventative maintenance of all Welding equipment
- Pre-measure and post-measure parts with required tooling and gauges and record in records, router.
- Responsible for equipment set up procedure; Set up and maintain equipment parameters
- Verifies that Welded parts conform to specifications
- Records information accurately on each component worked
- Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment as required and record accurately
- Prepare and pre-set all tools needed for Welding operations performing safety checks on all equipment before using
- Plans details of working procedure, tools and material requirements based on the instructions, prints and work orders received for the job
- Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning and welding various metals. Repairs equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment
- Cleans and prepares work surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles and tacks welded components
- Builds up worn or defective surface by welding and blending to specifications
- Using burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
- Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly; responsible for cleaning and prepping own parts

JOB DESCRIPTION : Provides engineering support to the business unit for all aspects of component repair related to development of minor repairs and continuous improvement programs.
Ensures compliance to relevant airworthiness and contractual requirements.
Essential Functions :
Identifies and establishes improvement programs through root cause analysis (i.e., repair instructions, proper sequencing, inspection criteria, gauges, fixtures, machines, etc.
analysis of turn times, work in process, non-conformance tags (NCTs), material review board (MRBs), process interruptions, other line stoppages, warranty failure modes, field reliability of repairs, investigation of repair-related field problems, line build problems, and subcontractors' repair performance.
Works with the quality department to trend the improvements.
Develops minor / major repairs (non-standard in conjunction with original equipment manufacturer (OEM), in-house process engineers, and outside services as required) under Design Approval Organization (DAO) sanction;
refines existing repair schemes to eliminate the frequent need for in-process rejects and MRBs.
Owns, generates, maintains, and updates repair process instructions, temporary overhaul data revisions (TODRs), matrix codes, etc.

- Implements new repairs / processes on scheduled due dates to accomplish production objectives using project management tools.
- Provides support and consultation services to business unit personnel and to the repair development facilities with regard to the development and implementation of new repairs and processes or repair development projects.
- Responsible for development of cost benefit analysis on all repair projects managed. Provides cost and schedule estimates for proposed work packages.
- Supports acquisition of manufacturing equipment as required to meet repair implementation objectives.
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices / conditions.
Competencies / Education
- Specific experience in development and implementation of bonded / composite components required. Repair experience in gas turbine engine composite / bonded parts (panels, shrouds, spinner cones, OGV’s, etc) highly desirable.
- Knowledge of gas turbine engine maintenance, theory, and performance.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes (i.e. bonding, metal spray (HVOF & Plasma Spray), welding, machining, heat treatment, non-destructive testing).
- Ability to read and interpret engine manual repair instructions, inspection criteria, and part blue prints.
- Ability to develop and design tooling / fixtures using 3D modeling software.
- Strong technical writing skills, interpersonal communication skills, and proficient computer skills are a must.
- Ability to make quick decisions in a fast paced and high part volume environment.
- Working knowledge of precision measurement instruments and gauges.
- Skill sets and capabilities; thermal spray experience, CNC machining, tool and die design / manufacture, CMM programming.
