JOB SUMMARY The Manufacturing Manager coordinates the activities of multiple production processes with the objective of operating at the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
This individual is a subject matter expert regarding development and implementation of process controls. In the role of manufacturing manager, he or she provides guidance, training, support and constructive feedback to staff and coordinates with Human Resources in hiring and onboarding activities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Train, monitor and evaluate the activities of department supervisors Communicate with department leads to ensure smooth operation of all shifts Ensure that quality metrics are being met consistently Monitor departments and ensure process standards are met Hold all department leads and supervisors accountable for meeting KPIs Adhere to existing processes and procedures as well as identifying opportunities for improvement Identify, create and develop metrics as needed Drive, monitor and evaluate health and safety policy Actively pursue LEAN manufacturing initiatives;
Work directly with various key positions including Engineers, Chemists, Quality Managers, Production Supervisors as well as key Executive Positions Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Manufacturing.
Review and understand the P&L and adjust operations accordingly QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 5 years of applicable experience with progressive responsibility in a manufacturing production environment.
1-3 years of supervisory experience Expert level skills in the areas of employee evaluations, training & development. Must have the ability to schedule and prioritize jobs, meet quality standards and troubleshooting of quality issues Ability to navigate an ERP / MRP system at an expert level.
Full understanding of LEAN methodologies as demonstrated by the implementation of quality initiatives Understanding of manufacturing P&L preferred Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience as a mechanical or process engineer or related field Powered by JazzHR
