Flight Operations Coordinator / Dispatcher

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Aircraft Scheduler / Dispatcher.

The Cox Enterprises Corporate Aircraft Scheduler / Dispatcher will organize, plan, and oversee all company aircraft scheduling.

They will ensure compliance with FAR’s and ICAO flight standards and regulations for each flight. Communicate with executives, flight crews, FBO’s and third-party providers on the most recent schedule and logistical needs.

This role has the highest visibility within the department.

Responsibilities :

This position will report to the Director of Flight Coordination. It will work closely with corporate Dispatchers and flight crews, ensuring executive travel requests are safely and expediently.

Some of them include, but are not limited to, the following :

Organize and oversee all scheduling and planning of company aircraft, reconcile all flight department expenditures, and monitor the progress of all company aircraft through established flight-following procedures.

Ensure crews, maintenance department, and executives are aware of the latest company aircraft schedule.

Obtain current fuel pricing; log flight records and crew training into TP.Biz software.

Meet and greet arriving passengers and assist with their needs. Schedule and confirm hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and catering services.

Crew scheduling, maintaining crew currency, and valid medical certificates. Ensure that all flights adhere to the approved company SMS program and FAR’s.

Assist with compiling the department’s annual budget and perform other duties as required or assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma / GED and 5 years experience in aviation. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree / certification beyond an HS diploma / GED in a related discipline and 3 years experience in aviation or 7 years experience in aviation.

Ability to work flex shift hours with some weekend on-call coverage possible.

Ability to work a variable schedule to support a 24 / 7 operation

Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate with executive-level management.

Strong Computer and organizational skills with excellent decision-making abilities are required.

A comprehensive understanding of weather theory, systems, and abbreviated aviation weather reports with previous flight planning is required.

Successful completion of FAA Dispatchers license within one year of employment

Aviation career-minded individual looking for long-term employment

Ability to work a variable schedule to support a 24 / 7 operation

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree- preferred concentration in Aviation

To help us transform, specifically to push our award-winning content to multiple social platforms, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is seeking a social media specialist.

In this role you will report to the Senior Editor for Digital Audience & Engagement and be responsible for daily programming across our social platforms, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

For this position, one must be a creative and collaborative champion of the best journalism and help with the creation of dynamic digital content.

The producer should have a demonstrated, professional ability to build a connection with social media users and grow audiences across platforms.

It’s also important to employ best practices and drive adoption of social media and other content promotion throughout the newsroom.

Job duties / tasks :

In this position you will :

Highlight our highest-value content.

Write teases and post content to various AJC accounts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and emerging platforms.

Execute postings per communication plan.

Create original content as needed, such as Instagram Stories and voiced posts.

Be seen as the voice of the AJC.

Demonstrate superior writing skills to create clean, clear copy with appropriate voice and tone.

Respond to readers’ questions and feedback.

Update and monitor user-generated content.

Work to increase audience engagement and promote digital subscriptions.

Assist reporters with best social media practices.

Provide information for weekly and monthly social media metrics reports.

Assist with special projects.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

What we expect you to have to be ready :

At least 3 years of experience presenting news content on social media platforms in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge about the most recent trends in social media and digital readership.

Strong news judgment preferred.

Familiarity and experience in using social audience metrics to drive decisions.

Understanding of journalism standards and media ethics.

Reliable internet service for remote work environment required.

Ability to work weekend and unusual hours as dictated by breaking news events.

Preferred Experience in one or more of the following :

Newspapers, magazines, media, technology, or related field

Social, interactive, or digital media

Education :

The Executive Assistant will provide both administrative support and business services to multiple executives and departments reporting to them, as well as some support for certain tasks across the company.

Reporting to the Business Manager & Sr EA, the Executive Assistant will need to have strong problem resolution skills, be highly organized and detail oriented.

This role will provide primary support to two or three AJC executives and their department directors; including but not limited to managing calendars, organizing meetings and preparing meeting space, catering, and travel and expenses.

The position is also responsible office support, process administration, and office administration for the company. Duties may include handling incoming / outgoing mail, supply ordering and inventory, storage and filing, tear sheet and archiving maintenance of the newspaper for the advertising / news departments, In addition, The candidate should be flexible, able to manage priorities, and be resourceful.

Independent judgment is required to plan and organize a diversified workload.

Administrative

  • Performs as Executive Assistant to AVPs.
  • Maintain executive and director schedule / calendar.
  • Works independently to support assigned senior leaders
  • Coordinate travel as requested for assigned executive and their teams
  • Organize and manage meetings and events including catering, scheduling and transportation.
  • Handles highly sensitive information
  • Provide executive level administrative support with high degree of initiative, confidentiality, and professional demeanor.
  • Prepare and track expense reports and reimbursements in a timely manner (incudes managing and collecting receipts / invoices).
  • Support executives with preparation of reports, articles, speeches / remarks, and presentations, including quarterly business review all-employee meetings.
