Company Summary : CCF Management Company manages and operates the assets of Cowboy Clean Fuels. Cowboy Clean Fuels is a Denver, Colorado-based emerging renewable energy technology company formed in 2020 to produce carbon-negative, renewable natural gas.

The Company’s patented, capital-efficient and highly scalable process utilizes readily available waste agricultural byproducts, which are converted to pipeline-ready renewable methane through a naturally-occurring biogenic process that happens in deep geologic formations.

Cowboy’s RNG will become the gold standard for clean fuels and a critical component of the clean energy economy of the future.

Position Summary : The Accounting Manager (or Director of Accounting, depending on experience) will be responsible for recording accounting transactions on a monthly basis and for the preparation of GAAP financial statements.

This role will also lead all technical accounting research for complex transactions as well as the design and implementation of SOX compliant processes within the Company.

This role will report to the Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including 1) establishment of controls and procedures, 2) accounting system design and 3) the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  • Manage all accounting responsibilities, including outsourced functions.
  • Preparation of ad hoc accounting and financial reports, as required by the leadership team and board.
  • Oversee the development and issuance of corporate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Interpretation and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Support external audits of corporate accounting procedures and financial statements, as required.
  • Support external tax preparers with annual tax filings.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting including 1) royalty filings and payments, 2) personal property and production tax filings and payments and 3) other business tax filings, as necessary.

Requirements :

  • 5+ years of financial accounting experience, public accounting experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA is a plus
  • Understanding of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls
  • Strong technical accounting research and analytical skills
  • Experience compiling GAAP financials
  • Prior oil and gas accounting experience

Salary Range : $100,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience level and qualifications.
