  • Scissor Lift (experience required)
  • Assist the Industrial Engineer with projects that improve processes and safety within the facility.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Warehouse experience required.
  • Automotive experience a plus.
  • 1+ years leading / directing hourly personnel preferred.
  • Ability to train others on process and procedures.
  • Able to pass Company’s forklift certification program
  • Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Work flexible and overtime hours as necessary.

As the MATERIALS MANAGER , you will be responsible for the following :

RESPONSIBILITIES :

People leader

o Apply and teach the lean principles of material pull systems to support customer requirements

o Effectively train all material staff ranging from clerks to managers

o Mentor, teach and lead employees to support solid succession planning and continually improve the depth of the team

o Perform layered audits and drive open items to closure

o Effectively communicate cross-functionally and with customers to plan launches, resolve issues and maintain CLI principles of operation

o Always be willing to help

Exceed customer expectations

o Establish / maintain effective KPI’s, monitor performance and initiate improvement opportunities

o Utilize / maintain PFEP (plan for every part)

o Turn data into business cases to ensure we make fact-based decisions

o Maintain accurate inventories and inventory control using techniques such as min-max and cycle count processes

o Manage and enforce material flow and traceability in a warehousing environment using scanning technology and visual management

o Manage the engineering change process to ensure breakpoints are achieved and communicated effectively

Resolve material shortages, overflow situations, and discrepant records effectively by root-cause analysis and then document continuous improvement

REQUIREMENTS :

Understanding of the business

o Proficient in Third Party Services including sequencing, kitting, repack, deconsolidation, and bulk and small lot metering

o Knowledge of Integrated Supply Chain Model (i.e. Part Sequencing, Sub Assembly, Cross Docking, operation management, logistics, warehousing, and material handling)

o Experience developing / implementing cross-functional metrics

o Lean material management principles focused on reducing waste and standardizing processes

o Demonstrated success in supply chain and logistics process improvement activities

o Understand the lean principles of material pull systems to support customer requirements

People skills

o Strong skills in managing salaried and hourly employees

o Exceptional customer interfacing skills

o Demonstrated team-building, leadership, talent development, and mentoring skills

Information Technology

o Proficient in Microsoft Office products to include : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

o Experience with material management features or modules in SAP would be an advantage

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS :

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Must have prior Warehousing, Logistics and / or 3PL experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of management experience required

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :

Manage the shipping and receiving systems. Supervise CMA personnel. Monitor operation of CMA equipment and systems. Maintain safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

  • Coordinates and monitors the contents of shipments that leave Comprehensive Logistics.
  • Assists with training Material Movement Team Members.
  • Plan, assign and direct work.
  • Appraises the performance of Material Movement Team Members.
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Involved in Multi-disciplinary Five Phase Problem Solving Teams that directly drives company’s Continuous Improvement Process and Policies
  • Ensures compliance to Comprehensive Dock Safety Procedures.
  • The Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that material is shipped to the customer in a timely manner. They must also determine the need to Hot Shot material and ensure that the Five Alarm Process is initiated and executed.
  • The Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the commodity distribution in any shipment is sufficient to meet customer needs.
  • Monitor the flow of labor and material in the Shipping Process.
  • Ensure that all shipments are made in a timely manner.
  • Make decisions on and arrange Hot Shot shipments to the customer.
