Entry-level Dispatcher
Job Description

As Entry-level Dispatcher, you’ll be using Descartes software to build and print daily routes for drivers in accordance with priorities set in coordination with Customer Service.
You’ll be front and center in providing the highest level of customer service by handling logistics and transportation for operations, including :

- Monitor and escalate CIC’s to supervisor & assist walk-in customers

- Understand and review daily the Descartes routing system.

- Build and print routes for drivers daily, including but not limited to shipping documents, route sheets, barcode labels.

- Review and update routes, new customers based on daily communication, reroute existing customers as required.
- Debrief drivers in accordance with written SOP's.

- Forward VCR (Vehicle Condition Report) reports to Transportation Supervisor / Manager for maintenance requests.

We are currently seeking an experienced Laborer to join our team at our Jersey City Dredge Material Processing facility. Duties will include handling the disposal, processing, and beneficial reuse of dredged materials that are shipped into our facility via barge.
This may include but is not limited to :
- Movement of heavy, wet material using hand tools and small equipment
- Working around heavy equipment and processing plant
- Follows company safety policies and protocols
- Performs some specialized tasks which may require on-the job training.

General Purpose :

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions) :
- Assist Customer Service and Sales with customer requests for inbound shipments and scheduled deliveries.
- Maintain the daily schedule for all waste material into the facility.
- Provides highest level of customer service to all customers both internal and external in line with Customer 1st objectives.
- Act as primary liaison between CENJ and approved transportation companies for scheduling and shipping material to and from the facility
- Prepare shipping paperwork such as manifests, BOLs, LDRs and labels as required
- Prepare Purchase Orders / requisitions as required
- Participate in finalizing the inbound and outbound schedule on a daily basis.
- Prepare and maintain rail car inventory sheets.
- Schedule rail shipments and inbound empty car schedule.
- Inspect returning rail cars for damage and maintain inspection reports.
- Prepare rail shipment manifests, BOLs and customs paperwork if required.
- Conduct periodic transporter audits and ensure proper permits are in place.
- Assist in daily inspections as required.
- Assist drivers with problems / issues as issues arise
- Handle 3rd Party Hauler paperwork including obtaining and maintaining Transporter Service Agreements (TSA)
- Act as primary contact for intracompany shipments and scheduling
- Keep staff informed of current problems, changes, and new developments in the department and company by conducting professional, organized, and participative meetings.
- Monitor Company policies and procedures, communicate to staff, as necessary.
- Maintain a safe and compliant workplace at all times
