Overview

The Customer Service Representative serves as a primary contact and financial advocate for guarantors to navigate and resolve any questions and / or concerns related to their Children's Mercy billing or sensitive financial matters.

The incumbent supports Children's Mercy's financial health and strategic goals by encouraging payment and self-pay collections for services rendered.

This position maintains working knowledge of hospital and organizational billing, charges, and collections policies.

Responsibilities

• Responds to both verbal and written requests for information from guarantors, payors, and other internal and external customers
• Reviews and resolves patient and family requests received through the Patient Financial Services website.
• Reviews and responds to parent mail and voicemail messages received.
• Special projects and / or miscellaneous tasks

Qualifications

Associate's Degree or 1-2 years experience Customer Service Experience, Patient Accounts Experience, Revenue Cycle Experience, Medical Insurance Billing

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $18.15 / hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work / Work from Home

This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.

A Bachelor's Social Worker is responsible for collaborating with internal and external team members to identify barriers to care and resource needs for patients and families.

The Bachelor's Social Worker supports patients, families and teams by conducting assessments; providing emotional support;

• Employees must obtain Bachelors of Social Work Kansas or equivalent within 90 days

Provides high level secretarial functions for Surgical Specialty Clinics that may include : answering phones, scheduling and coordinating clinic appointments and operating room scheduling, obtaining external patient records, clinic support, filing, copying, typing and faxing.

Supports the CMLS lean system by providing administrative support in daily management, problem solving, and performance metrics.

• Manages office communications.
• Organizes and maintains department filing system to ensure records are complete and accurate.
• Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations.

• Shares responsibility for teaching and orientation of new personnel (within own skill level).
