At CESO a Staff Biologist has a with mix of field and office responsibilities including environmental sampling; wetland delineations;

habitat assessments; coordination between clients and federal and state regulatory agencies; technical writing; and environmental permitting.

You will have primary responsibilities that will include :

  • Perform various field surveys and sampling events including wetland delineations, habitat assessments, and environmental sampling
  • Prepare technically sound field notes, reports, graphs and maps
  • Working with your Environmental Manager and other team members, you’ll gain expertise in many aspects of environmental compliance within the commercial, residential, and energy markets
  • Travel to client / project locations throughout CESO’s operating areas to assist with biological field surveys and data collection
  • Knowledge of northeast region ecosystems and the various environmental regulatory permitting processes
  • Preparation of technical reports including permit documents, biological assessments, jurisdictional delineations, monitoring reports, technical reports and / or memorandums

Position Requirements Include :

  • Our Staff Biologists / Environmental Scientists have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or Environmental Sciences
  • 3-7 years of wetland delineation, GIS, and scientific report writing experience
  • Ability to collaborate with others to provide solutions for complex problems on diverse projects that challenge in the field and the office.
  • Experience with the energy industry is a plus
  • Experience with state and federal environmental regulations including stream and wetland permitting, as well as the Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 401 / 404 of the Clean Water Act, and state water quality standards.

At CESO, it is the role of a Civil Engineering Project Manager to plan, execute, and deliver projects in accordance with client expectations.

This includes but is not limited to managing the efforts of internal team members as well as third party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.

Additionally, the Civil Engineering Project Manager will define a project’s objectives, oversee quality control, and maintain responsibility for timelines and budgets.

You will have primary responsibilities that include :

  • Define and establish project scope, schedule and budget for projects as well as maintain quality control over a project’s lifecycle
  • Outline project objectives and timelines for completion and effectively communicate them to involved parties throughout project
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with assigned clients through frequent communication methods and lead client meetings
  • Lead the preparation of civil engineering project proposals
  • Manage a staff of engineers and technicians and assign workloads
  • Communicate project status and performance to executive leadership
  • Monitor project progress to ensure adherence with contractual agreements
  • Assure project documentation and reporting are accurately maintained
  • Oversee coordination with clients as well as outside agencies and consultants for procurement of sub-consultant needs and jurisdictional reviews
  • Elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other internal departments
  • Provide resolution to client and project issues
  • Responsible for invoicing of clients and tracking accounts receivable on a monthly basis
  • Act as a team resource on complex engineering issues
  • Develop and grow business relationships with existing client contacts
  • Motivate team members through the creation of a positive work environment by providing mentoring, coaching, and training to assist in professional development
  • Other project and supervisory duties as assigned

Position requirements include :

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience professional experience leading the management of projects
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, HydroCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Deltek
  • Excellent communication and delegation skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team

The primary responsibilities of an Environmental Field Technician include :

  • Conduct stream augmentation inspections and help clients maintain compliance
  • Provide oversight during stream mitigation activities in the field
  • Collect field samples of water, soil or other media in accordance with applicable regulatory guidance or CESO standard operating procedures.
  • Collect quality control samples which may include trip blanks, field duplicates and matrix spike duplicates
  • Coordinate landowner access
  • Document characteristics of media such as color, pH, conductivity, and temperature
  • Assemble, operate and maintain field instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare field notes and sketches
  • Complete data entry and manage large datasets produced from field sampling
  • Support other field services such as wetland delineation, stream assessments, and habitat evaluations
  • Follows CESO and client mandated safety requirements and is safety conscious at all times.

Position requirements include :

  • A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, naural resources or other related field is a plus
  • Knowledge of sampling equipment such as water quality meters, multi-gas meters, water meters is a plus
  • Ability to perform field duties in variable weather conditions
  • Ability to hike through uneven terrain sometimes while carrying field instruments
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Is self-motivated and requires little supervision
  • Possesses problem-solving skills
  • Communicates effectively in written and verbal forms
  • Possesses critical thinking skills including ability to identify alternative solutions to solve problems.
  • Ability to work individually or with team members
  • Able to manage flexible work schedules and time efficiently
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Field experience is not necesary, but a plus
