About This Role

Experienced outside sales professional for the Fenwal Controls brand overseeing and participating in various Outside Sales and customer relationship management processes.

The territory is the US East of the Mississippi except for Illinois. Responsible for representing the company's interests and building business relationships to enhance outside sales performance.

Will also supervise and direct Non-Employee Sales representatives in the region.

Eastern US Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for maintaining and growing existing accounts, and developing new accounts within the region.

Candidates for this position are to demonstrate multi-dimensional skills in the areas of planning, problem solving, complaint resolution, prioritization, and an ability to communicate essential brand characteristics powerfully, concisely, and confidently.

Key Responsibilities

Acts as a main contact with prospects, develops a professional relationship and understands the customer needs to suggest products and / or services to meet the customer’s needs for OEM controls.

Travel within the territory, independently and with management, calling on OEM’s, distributors and new business prospects.

Plan and organize sales visits and provide regular reports, market information, competitor information and customer feedback to the Company.

This includes information to assist in new product development and product enhancements.

Identifies product application opportunities, prepares quotes, manages the customer sampling and qualification process, negotiates pricing with potential customers and builds and maintains customer relationships to win new business

Maximize delivery performance of the Controls group by regular monitoring of the status of key accounts’ forecasts, open orders, new part numbers and facilitating and expediting as required

Cultivate customer contacts with existing and potential customers to maximize business opportunities and ensure timely response to changing customer and market needs.

Proficiency at analyzing and assimilating sales and marketing data to better manage region, improve profit margins and maximize region performance

Maintain contact with customers, representatives and other members of the Company in a reasonable, friendly, cooperative and businesslike manner to ensure that the Company is well and favorably received.

Handles all pricing and price increase negotiations with the customers

Creates trip and visit reports as needed to keep management updated with territory activity

20% Travel Requirements throughout the Eastern Region of the US

Required Qualifications

Associates Degree

3+ years of Sales Experience with Commercial or Industrial Technical Products

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrate effective communication skills : Internal / External presentations, Technical Literature, Meetings and General Correspondence

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Proficiency with standard office software tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Familiarity with modern ERP systems such as Oracle, JDE, JD Edwards, etc.

Familiarity working in an ISO 9000 / similar structured quality environment

Direct experience in the manufacturing, design or sale of HVAC and related products

Under general supervision, maintain and repair both electronic and electro-mechanical designed systems. Typical equipment for repairing includes analog and digital meters, laboratory equipment, electronic safety devices, welding controls systems, control panels, motor speed controllers and all other electronic systems excluding programmable controller software.

Electrical work involving layout, installation, maintenance and repair of light, test, power, and automatically controlled circuits of standard design.

Perform such duties as work involving trouble diagnosis, repair and maintenance of heating and cooling units for all Indianapolis plants, and assist in other duties relating to maintenance of buildings and grounds.

TYPICAL DUTIES

Perform repairs on equipment as defined above by diagnosing faults and making actual repairs, readjustments, or calibrations.

Typical equipment used is multimeters, oscilloscopes, hand, electrical, or soldering tools as used in this trade.

  • Maintain and assist in keeping maintenance and calibration records and also replacement parts for the electronic / electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment per instructions and schedules established by supervision.
  • Lay out construction wiring and install and maintain electrical circuits for machine installations, conveyors, elevators, crane, etc.
  • Perform expert trouble shooting and wiring of electrical circuit.
  • Maintain and repair AC and DC motors and control equipment.
  • Install conduit and bus-bar and general wiring.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas.
  • Determine cause of any malfunction of a unit heater, rooftop furnace, electrical heating element, electric air conditioner, or hot water boiler.

Exceptions : gas chillers and large Carrier compressors.)

  • Replace unit components such as gas valves, control relays, protective relays, thermostats, fan and blower motors, fuses, EAC compressors, etc.
  • Recharge freon in EAC condensing units and test for leaks.
  • 12 Change filters on all air handling units and clean EAC condenser coils on a periodic basis.
  • May perform other duties such as troubleshooting and repairing lighting units and power circuits in offices, including replacement of fluorescent tubes and ballasts and cleaning reflectors and diffusers.
  • Assist other Maintenance Department employees and perform related or less skilled work.
  • Perform other similar or less skilled work.
  • Follow all site safety rules specific to their position, as seen in the associate handbook, cardinal rule cards, job specific standard work and any EHS training documents.
  • Report all chemical spills and other environmental concerns to their supervisor, security, or EHS immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess knowledge of industrial electronics by completion of an Associates Degree in Electronics from a recognized trade school / university or college, or by passing an Associates Degree Electronics equivalency examination.
  • Must be able to work from wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.
  • Must have general knowledge of electrical codes and requirements.
  • Must have successfully completed Carrier Training program or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Must be able to read and write and pass Carrier Qualification test.
  • Must be a qualified Electrician and able to read and interpret wiring diagrams; piping schematic drawings and Carrier unit maintenance instructions.
  • Must be able to trace electrical circuits, make voltage test, gas pressure test, etc., all in accordance with rules of safety.
  • Must complete applicable safety programs such as electrical safety, lockout-tagout, etc
