Were looking for an amazing Data Scientist to fill this role, which is based in our Seattle office. Youll be responsible for focusing on using your data science skills to conceive and develop new opportunities to optimize revenue and enhance understanding and decision making within our business.

You will work closely with business end users to help interpret models, assess unique business cases, and incorporate feedback between the business and the RMS.

You will work closely with our fuel and deployment teams to optimize operational decision making with data science, as well as also be involved in other key projects that help us better understand our guest behaviors and preferences, allowing us to maximize revenue and guest experience by providing the right cruise experience to the right guest for the right price.

Responsibilities

Identify and lead projects within Holland America and Seabourn that will help us minimize our deployment-based Carbon emissions, as part of our drive to minimize such emissions.

Develop analytical capabilities to identify opportunities to optimize our ship deployment mix detailed modelling and understanding of ship engine performance and fuel consumption, to derive modelling that will lead us to optimizing our ship deployments.

Use these models to recommend / visualize optimal deployment strategies within Holland America and Seabourn

  • Design and build proof of concept models for new concepts and improvements for implementation into the RMS and into our Pre / Post Booking Strategy, and lead the brand testing of this functionality, using a combination of business and analytical expertise
  • Apply and adapt knowledge and experience of theoretical, mathematical concepts to develop advanced modelling and analytics to maximize net revenue and profitability and develop ROI metrics to quantify value of enhanced capability
  • Use your experience of analytics visualization to create tools and analyses that accurately reflect the underlying mathematics whilst being visually engaging and easy-to-use for the business teams.

Lead the implementation of these where needed across the business

Work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the relevancy and usability of all models and tools delivered is maintained;

Use strategic and tactical thinking to determine how to best manage, configure and / or influence the RMS and Fuel modelling to best reflect current business activity and future strategy, as well as understand impacts of changing legislation in the fuel and deployment space

Requirements

  • Degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Applied Statistics
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a high level of attention to detail
  • Creative and innovative problem-solver
  • Demonstrable understanding of ship operations and modelling of fuel consumption
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in analytics within travel in a data / data science role
  • Previous experience with Revenue Management / Price optimization
  • Knowledge of operational considerations in travel
  • Experience in identifying business problems and scoping / implementing analytic solutions into the business.
  • Relevant work experience in revenue management, pricing automation systems, or user support functions for large software
  • Experience leading projects or small teams
  • Cruise Industry analytics experience highly desired
  • Previous experience with MXP deployment systems
  • Building and working with data in Snowflake and integration with other systems
  • Practical Experience in using R in mathematical modelling (1-2 years in identifying problems in the business and proactively designing solutions)
  • At least 1 years experience in building tools using R Shiny
  • SQL (at least 3 years)

  • Can confidently translate business problems into model insights and enhancements

Job Description

The GISCS Cyber Security Architecture and Engineering function is responsible for the development of technical cloud security specifications, and the hands-on implementation of cloud security solutions (monitoring, governance, detective and preventative).

This individual will leverage a mix of proprietary cloud security tools, as well as be responsible for hands on development of scripts and cloud security solutions (e.

g., AWS Control Tower, identity-related solutions, AWS SCPs, etc.). This role will work very closely with GISCSs Global Application Security team and must be skilled and experienced in Cloud DevSecOPs.

This role is focused on custom cloud workloads across AWS and Azure vs. SaaS solutions like MS O365.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Engage with cloud DevOPs teams to ensure new and existing cloud solutions, workloads, and environments are secure and meet published minimum security requirements
  • Research, test and implement security tools and custom solutions to scan, monitor and protect cloud environments
  • Requires significant coding and scripting skills, and usage of cloud service provider APIs
  • Develop hardening standards for cloud environments using a combination of industry best practices and experience
  • Conduct hands-on red teaming of cloud workloads and environments across AWS and Azure, assisting DevOPs teams to reproduce, triaging, and addressing cloud-related vulnerabilities and threats
  • Assist with the definition, and execution of a global cloud security strategy and roadmap, including people, process, and technology
  • Prioritize cloud vulnerability remediation items detected by tools or manual inspection and provide remediation recommendations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, or Cyber / Information Security ideal
  • 2 of the following : a) AWS Architect Certification, b) AWS Security Configuration, c) Any Azure certifications, d) Any GCP certifications
  • 5+ Cyber Security with cloud focus, 5+ programming
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud environments, including Azure, AWS, and Google (GCP)

The range for this roles base salary is $160,000 - $170,000. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Survey ships to establish interior repair and maintenance needs. Key player in building annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets
  • Coordinate and implement interior projects on vessels. Engage with third party contractors when needed
  • Create purchase orders and raise capital projects
  • Manage projects at dry docks and in-service. This includes soliciting bids and awarding work with third party vendors and managing projects to completion
  • Work closely with Asset Management Team to assure upgrades and changes meet brand standards
  • Work closely with Hotel Refurbishment team to implement projects
  • Work closely with ships staff and Technical Pods to maintain ship interiors on vessels

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and / or equivalent experience
  • Ability to multi-task, flexible and agile, able to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience or equivalent -OR
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in marine and / or design industry or related industry
  • Preferred Interior Design Industry experience (ex. Interior Designer, Interior Contractor, Vendor in design industry)
  • Preferred experience working on vessels or marine experience related to interior maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Class Society rules and regulations (ex. IMO)
