Maintenance Manager

The Plant Maintenance Manager coordinates major maintenance initiatives such as : planning, directing and controlling the efforts of the Maintenance Department to maintain plant equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient manner commensurate with good engineering practices.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Accountable for maintenance of production equipment and facilities.
  • Develop, maintain and administer an organization qualified to maintain all equipment and facilities.
  • Develop and execute an effective predictive and preventive maintenance program to minimize unscheduled down time.
  • Maintain all operating equipment in satisfactory condition.
  • Schedule needed repair to have minimum interference.
  • Recommend modifications of existing equipment and facilities and the possible replacement of existing equipment which will improve operations and reduce maintenance costs.

  • Responsible for Plant building maintenance and repair.
  • Review and approve R and M requisitioning and invoicing.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate cost and waste and enhance levels of efficiency through lean manufacturing principles
  • Develop an annual budget that will adequately provide for required Maintenance activities.
  • Review and report monthly on performance against budget.
  • Plan and provide for an adequate supply and ensure control over spare parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Responsible for employee development and safety.
  • Responsible for employee discipline.

Job Requirements :

  • B.S. degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical preferred), and 8-10 years of experience in related field with background and experience in engineering and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability in planning and organizing, controlling, coordinating and directing a Maintenance Department.
  • At least 5 years of experience as maintenance manager in manufacturing and or food industry.
  • Strong organization and leadership skills.
  • Experience in the food industry is strongly preferred Knowledge of process-packaging-service equipment
  • Must possess a balance of the technical, human relations and conceptual skills required to achieve results through subordinate supervision.
  • Must be capable of evaluating and weighing alternatives, establishing relative priorities and formulating decisions that affect all phases of the operation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Computer skills, preferably Microsoft Office Suites and CMMS software.
  • Understand equipment repair manuals, federal, state and local codes and regulations.
  • Ability to produce understandable and accurate reports and records.
  • Must have a current driver's license and good driving record.

  • Maintains and repairs maintenance shop equipment.
  • Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
  • Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
  • Supervises plant maintenance personnel.
  • Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
  • Assists with hiring of maintenance personnel.
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and / or reduce operating costs.
  • Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
  • Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are always met.
  • Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the entire plant operation, overseeing all aspects of production, quality, safety, maintenance, and personnel management.
  • Develop and implement production plans, budgets, and strategies to achieve operational targets, including production volumes, cost control, and quality standards.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of production supervisors, operators, and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and safety.
  • Implement and maintain strict quality control measures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and industry standards.

Requirements / Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Operations / plant management, preferably in the food and beverage industry, with a focus on aseptic beverage production.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic processing, filling, and packaging technologies, as well as regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.).
  • Experience using Aseptic Manufacturing or UHT with Low Acid and Dairy
  • Excellent people management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and mentor employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing all systems and activities involved in the receiving, shipping, and storage of all products,

support production, and control the accuracy and lot rotation of finished goods inventory. To ensure a safe environment for all employees

the changing warehousing process.

Core Functions :

Responsible for the daily operation of all logistics functions, including personnel training, auditing,

and work assignments

Execute good manufacturing practices while promoting a safe working environment and maintaining

sanitation standards (GMP and HAACP)

Ensure safe operation and safety of all material handling equipment. Develop and implement

procedures as required

Conduct inspections for safety and warehousing maintenance

Maintain proper standards for storage / handling of finished product and packaging

materials. Audit to ensure compliance

Plan, lead, and conduct finished goods inventory counts as determined by accounting

Research records as required to satisfy customer complaints / concerns and product recall

situations. Cycle check inventory to verify counts and lot numbers. Provide data

and assistance to QA as required

Maintain proper standards for all logistic document preparation, issuance, and retention

to include : shipping manifests and bills of lading, truck loading sheets and pick plans, and packing slips.

Ensure integrity of all SAP transactions : PGI, returns and inventory accuracy

Ensure packaging needs of production are met at all times. Work with Purchasing Manager

and Production Manager to bring in supplies that meet quality standards

Maintain physical condition of warehouse and coolers by planning and maintaining

routine housekeeping schedules, complying with GMPs

Continually identify and implement short- and long-term cost savings opportunities,

in the areas of distribution and warehousing, that do not compromise quality

Facilitate good communication by regularly informing plant manager of significant

operational issues, changes, and recommendations

Participate in food safety inspections including interacting with plant QA,

regulatory agencies, customer, and external auditors

Coordinate daily workflow for the Shipping / Receiving Coordinator, and Security

Administer, evaluate progress, mentor and score salaried employee goals and targets

Administer corrective action / discipline to affected employees

Complete weekly department payroll

Other tasks and projects as assigned by the Plant Manager; other tasks as requested by associates.

Setup, allocate and assign to employees next day orders

Correct order discrepancies (WMS). Shorts, damage, stainers, etc

Receive all materials and packaged deliveries, to include SAP entry

Conduct daily production physical counts and adjust as necessary

Conduct quarterly cycle counts

Coordinators backup (vacations, sick, emergencies, personal, holidays)

Oversees SecureOne; Third party security

All other duties as assigned

Warehouse Manager is responsible for Food Safety and Quality Responsible to follow company

Quality Management Systems and implement Food Safety in the warehousing of finished

materials and to protect the goods produced such that they remain wholesome and safe during

Skills / Experience Requirements :

Bachelor s degree in supply chain or logistics preferred

5+ years in warehousing and transportation

Knowledge of truck loading, strapping, bracing to prevent transportation damage

Knowledge of transportation loss and claim procedures

All areas of receiving responsibilities

Computer knowledge required including Microsoft Office

Experience with SAP a plus
