Design, architect, and help implement Cloud Security Architecture to modernize our cloud.
Assess cloud service offerings from AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to identify threats, risks, and controls to secure the service.
Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, and self-organization to find efficiencies in our cloud security assessment process.
Assess the overall Cloud Platform Security (CPS) Programs, identify gaps in the process and recommend areas of improvement.
Participate in management of the overall Cloud Control Inventory, Procedure documents, Cloud Service Catalog and Service Adoption Framework (SAF) Reports.
As the CPS first line of defense, perform content and quality assurance reviews of Cloud Controls Exceptions and SAF assessments to provide risk-based recommendations.
Stay current on emerging Cloud computing vulnerabilities, threats, controls, and potential implications for Capital One.
Operate as a trusted advisor for cloud services helping junior team members and developers understand threats and risk mitigation options for cloud services.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, lines of business and leaders across multiple organizations to achieve Capital One Cloud Security objectives.
Participate in the testing of control design and feasibility study (both manually and through automation) prior to the roll out of Cloud services for enterprise-wide consumption.
Basic Qualifications :
High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification
At least 6 years of experience in Cyber Security
At least 2 years of cloud experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
3+ years of experience delivering cloud security solutions
2+ years of experience in agile delivery
AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer certification

Capital One is seeking an experienced security engineer within the Identity and Access Management organization to be a member of a team responsible for securing Capital One’s enterprise Directory Services environment that includes Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, AWS managed Microsoft Active Directory, and Google Cloud Domain Directory.
Candidates for this role should have experience in analyzing, managing and securing complex enterprise level Active Directory and related environments, have a passion for risk assessment and mitigation, analyzing and generating complex reports, learning new cloud based technologies, and driving automated and efficient solutions to complex problems.
Responsibilities :
Protecting and securing Capital One’s enterprise Active Directory environments, including on-premise and cloud environments from Amazon, Microsoft, and Google
Participate in the analysis, troubleshooting, investigation and remediation of security related activities and events within the various Active Directory platforms
Develop and generate periodic security audits to ensure the Active Directory environments adhere to Capital One’s and industry standard security, risk and compliance requirements
Develop, deploy and manage scripts to automate the generation of reports across various technologies like Active Directory, LDAP, and related technologies
Participate as a team member on various projects within or across technology and business teams
Perform vulnerability assessments and security testing to proactively identify and remediate security risks within the Active Directory environment
Support tools from Microsoft, Quest, and OneID to better protect the environment and monitor for security breaches, intrusions and irregular system and user behavior
Partner with other Cyber Security engineers to implement technology solutions
Participate in disaster recovery activities, capacity planning, performance monitoring, tuning and maintenance to ensure high availability of security monitoring systems
Evaluate, test, and select new security, compliance, and audit tools
Partner with CyberSecurity teams to support forensic investigations and ensure integration with enterprise SIEM systems such as Splunk
Be familiar with technologies such as, SSO, FIDO / FIDO2, Passwordless, AuthZ, AuthN and products like, Ping, Okta, and Windows Hello

- Identity and develop new architecture standards for secure cloud adoption. Work with key stakeholders to gain approval and influence adoption.
- Develop architecture roadmaps for delivering new capabilities when multiple dependencies need to be managed
- Assess emerging technologies against security architecture to determine where they fill gaps, overlap with existing solutions or extend capabilities
- Contribute to the evolution of the architecture practice aligned with security and information technology organization strategy and objectives
- Implement technical proof of concepts that demonstrate how an architecture or design would be realized and prove out key technical concepts
- Participate in architecture governance processes for both information security and the Enterprise
- Serve as information security subject matter expert; provide advisory and consulting services as needed
- Review existing and proposed architectures, identify security design gaps, and recommend changes or enhancements
- Participate in solution architecture design; lead security efforts assisting with the integration and initial implementation of solutions
- Achieve security architecture compliance on requirements, including : Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, data privacy requirements, as well as state and federal regulations
- Stay abreast of new security technologies and integrate into security architecture design when appropriate
