We are seeking a skilled Pastry Chef / Prep Cook to join our growing team. San Diego based restaurant group operating 2 locations and opening up 2 in the next 6 months.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating french cuisine with an emphasis on pastries. Candidate will work with the executive to maintain a rigorous prep schedule that supplies our two locations with house made pastries, desserts, sauces, quiche, soups etc.
Responsibilities
Prepare a wide variety of baked goods using traditional and modern cooking methods.
Prepare ingredients for the head chef and line cooks.
Follow recipes and presentation guidelines
Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and communicate to st
Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
Requirements and skills
Proven experience as holding pastry chef, baker or relevant role
3+ years of experience of working in a professional kitchen
Great attention to detail and creativity
Organized and efficient in working without constant direction
Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
Strong familiarity in preparing savory and sweet tarts from scratch
Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field preferred but not required
