Pastry Chef
We are seeking a skilled Pastry Chef / Prep Cook to join our growing team. San Diego based restaurant group operating 2 locations and opening up 2 in the next 6 months.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating french cuisine with an emphasis on pastries. Candidate will work with the executive to maintain a rigorous prep schedule that supplies our two locations with house made pastries, desserts, sauces, quiche, soups etc.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a wide variety of baked goods using traditional and modern cooking methods.
- Prepare ingredients for the head chef and line cooks.
- Follow recipes and presentation guidelines
- Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and communicate to st
- Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as holding pastry chef, baker or relevant role
- 3+ years of experience of working in a professional kitchen
- Great attention to detail and creativity
- Organized and efficient in working without constant direction
- Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
- Strong familiarity in preparing savory and sweet tarts from scratch
- Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field preferred but not required
