Job Summary

The Employee Relations Advisor shall be responsible for :

Responsible for conducting and overseeing harassment and discrimination investigations, non-labor grievances, and other investigations into allegations of misconduct or violations of policy.

Develops investigation plan, gathers relevant facts, interviews case critical witnesses, documents investigation and recommends course of action to leadership, assisting with the implementation of corrective actions and / or disciplinary procedures as appropriate.

  • Partners with the Lead ER Advisor on employee related matters or hospital initiatives in support of the Human Resources Client Service Delivery Core.
  • Reviews corrective action and discipline. Documents and maintains the facts pertaining to relevant activities and decisions.

Works with General Counsel to prepare for the Hospital’s defense with regard to discrimination or other lawsuits.

Advises management and staff on policy interpretation, and ensures consistent application and enforcement of Hospital policies.

Participates in policy recommendations to senior management, participates in policy work groups, and drafts and edits HR policies to changes in the work environment or legal landscape

  • Participates in discussions with Management and / or HRBPs on employee issues and conflict resolution and recommends solutions.
  • Serves on or chairs departmental or hospital-wide committees or project teams as needed.
  • Ensures personnel policies are equitable and effective. Reviews current policies and procedures and recommends changes, as necessary.
  • Maintains collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the working groups’ achievement goals.

In order to qualify you must have :

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, counseling or a related area and five or more years of experience in employee relations or related.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to influence and persuade.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Job Summary

The Executive Assistant will be responsible for :

  • Directly supporting the Executive Vice Chair of Anesthesia and their interactions with Department Faculty and staff
  • Schedule coordination and maintenance, including : setting appointments and both small and large-scale, multi-stakeholder meetings;

reserving meeting locations, ordering supplies and services, preparing agenda and other materials. Prepares travel arrangements, including airline reservations and hotel accommodations.

  • Editing rough draft correspondence, reports, manuscripts, charts, and other materials for clinical, administrative or research purposes, including highly complex and / or confidential financial / business documents
  • Monitoring and maintaining department recordkeeping systems and shared drive, including highly sensitive and / or critical administrative and financial data
  • Input of information into databases and spreadsheets, monitoring data validity and compiling, printing and distribution of periodic reports and other information
  • Logistical / administrative planning and coordination for departmental events
  • Contributing to Department’s Social Media Committee

To qualify, you must have :

  • Work requires the level of knowledge typically acquired through completion of two years of occupationally specific education or an Associate's degree in business or a closely related field.

  • Work requires the analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
  • Work requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.

This Environmental Services Floor Technician 2 will be responsible for :

  • Performing hard floor care : dust mops, damp mops, stripping, waxing, and refinishing floors; performing spray buffing.
  • Cleaning carpets and furniture. Vacuuming, doing spot removal and shampoos.
  • Cleaning and maintaining assigned areas including stairwells and elevators.
  • Operating electric and battery powered equipment for cleaning services and rearranging of furniture / equipment.
  • Picking up supplies and packing regulated medical waste.
  • Wearing protective clothing as required (i.e. : surgery dress code, medical waste packing, ribavirin and / or isolation precautions, etc.).
  • Responding to floods and other emergencies, drying and cleaning facilities and equipment as directed.
  • Using equipment to respond to emergencies as directed and in accordance with hospital and department protocols to ensure personal and environmental safety is protected.

Medical Assistant I

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant is responsible for the following :

Controls and monitors patient flow to maximize efficient use of providers and exam rooms. Responds to variations in patient volume, provider ability, and resources (e.

g., early arrivals, no shows, providers who are absent, etc.) by making continual adjustments in room utilization and assignment.

Maintains communication with patients, families, and providers regarding delays and schedule interruptions.

Prepares exam room for each patient in accordance with needs of patient’s visit. Escorts patient to exam room and prepares patient for provider visit.

Checks to ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety.

Prepares medical record for patient visit, confirming accuracy with patient identifiers, entering chief complaint and social history.

Interviews the patient to obtain data. Records patient’s stated level of pain and performs other screening tools to include fall risk, abuse, neglect, tobacco usage, etc.

  • Performs and records vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight).
  • Performs routine tests that may include, but are not limited to : electrocardiogram, vision and hearing screening, and collection of specimens for lab testing.
  • May perform phlebotomy. Prepares specimens for transports as needed.
  • Where appropriate, and as governed by clinic protocols, performs collection of specimens and / or perform nasopharyngeal swabbing for COVID-19 testing under the authority and supervision of a licensed health care provider or licensed health care professional.
  • Reviews list of medications with patient. Notifies provider of patient requests for referrals and prescription renewals
  • Performs Point of Care Testing (POC) as ordered, including Urine dips, HCG testing, Strep A, HGB A1C, and glucose testing.

Performs daily / monthly quality assurance for POC as outlined in hospital policy and procedures.

  • Ensures the necessary supplies and equipment are ready for the provider’s use during the visit Assists. Chaperones providers / nursing staff with physical exams, treatments, and procedures as necessary.
  • Prepares exam room for each patient in accordance with needs of patient’s visit. Escorts patient to exam room and prepares patient for provider visit.

Checks to ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety.

  • Participates in prescription management tasks, including prior authorization.
  • Under the direction of provider, clinical leadership, administrative leaders orders supplies. Monitors supply inventory for clinic and orders supplies as needed.

Stocks, maintains, and rotates supplies in clinic rooms daily according to clinic demands. Monitors expiration dates.

  • Maintains medical equipment.
  • At the direction of a provider, participates in telephone screening and follow-up communications with patients and / or families.
  • Participates in unit-specific quality improvement projects, i.e., hand washing audits, time-outs, refrigerator / medication logs, daily / monthly code cart checks.
  • Active participant in unit meetings.

The Medical Assistant must have the following :

  • CPR and Basic Life Support Certification
  • NCCA (National Commission for Certifying Agency) recognized Medical Certification required OR certification needs to be completed within one year of hire date.
  • High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required

Any of the following are acceptable :

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologists
  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing
