Operations Manager – Onboard Airline Courier Services

Our client is an international leader in onboard airline courier services and customs clearance for time-critical materials and products, who has recently expanded operations to the USA.

As part of that expansion, our client is looking to hire an Operations Manager Onboard Airline Courier Services to help establish and grow their backend operations for their US business unit.

The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in the organization and will have responsibility for all backend operations.

The Operations Manager Onboard Airline Courier Services will support and develop the Operations Team to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of solutions and services, as well as work with the Sales Team to support business development activities.

This role is best suited for a highly motivated, organized, self-starter, with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Additionally, it’s a must that this individual has prior experience and knowledge of express onboard airline courier logistics.

Focus :

  • Establish backend operations for US the business unit, including building out the process, procedures and team.
  • Player / coach who can perform administrative tasks, such as responding to customer inquiries, and coordinating email communications between internal teams and customers.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for the team and clients on all projects, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise between company and customs brokerage vendors, and source list of flyers for on-board courier services.
  • Support human resources function in establishing and developing a team in alignment with company goals.
  • Coordinate global sales activities including the generation of qualified leads for the sales team.
  • Develop and execute new processes, policies, goals, and long-term solutions that increase scalability, streamline operations, reduce errors, and decrease costs.
  • Provide and present daily, weekly, and monthly operations reports to executive leadership.

Skill Set :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 5 years of backend operations experience in the international logistics industry, with specific experience in time critical, onboard courier services.
  • Strong background in air freight forwarding, express courier services, and / or e-commerce.
  • Ability to handle time-critical shipments and express courier services.
  • Knowledge of global airline and customs regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Expertise in international air routing and networking.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other software to store data, perform reporting, and create documentation.
  • Leadership background with demonstrated ability to grow, manage, and lead teams.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills; able to coordinate between departments and with third party vendors.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and reliable, with excellent customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated digital marketing skills in all social media and advertising platforms.
  • Strong reporting and analytics skills with he ability to present data and results to a non-technical audience.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience and demonstratable understanding of the hospitality industry and current market.
