Day (United States of America)The Healthcare Data Analyst will join a collaborative team at the department and division level grounded in patient safety and improvement science to participate in projects that promote a culture of excellence.

The Healthcare Data Analyst will be responsible for acquisition, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of sensitive data to support performance measurement and improvement efforts.

They must be able to work independently, and collaboratively, to locate and validate data, identify data requirements, and communicate data specifications to team members and leaders.

They must be able to develop reporting / analytic solutions, but also be able to draw meaningful conclusions and make recommendations for actions.

The Healthcare Data Analyst will leverage software applications to design solutions and perform detailed data mapping and analysis.

They will not only manage data and design new processes, but will be accountable for the timely and accurate production of routine internal and external monitoring reports and special projects.

This requires experience working with databases, along with creativity, curiosity, and initiative to evolve the tools and reporting systems to meet the priorities of a dynamic healthcare environment.

They will need an understanding of data management, as well as manipulation and interpretation of large databases.

Job Description :

Essential Responsibiles :

1. Responsible for acquiring, accessing, validating, and querying data from data repositories using available tools (including Redcap, NDNQI, RL6, MS Access, Power BI).

2. Works with members of the team and department to define problems and clarify objectives; determines data needs and assists in designing collection tools and reports.

Evaluates data and reports to assess if reporting meets end user requirements.

3. Gathers and compiles documentation of metrics and data sources, routine, ad hoc reporting to facilitate replication.

4. Collaborates with Information Systems to obtain and maintain sources and mapping tables.

5. Ensures data integrity and data quality, regularly reviews data for accuracy, identifies trends, and communicates changes.

Required Qualifications :

1. Bachelor's degree in mathematics, science, technology, information systems, public health, healthcare or related field required.

2. 1-3 years related work experience required.

3. Experience with data collection, data management, and analysis. Experience summarizing trends in written and presentation form.

4. Demonstrated analytic problem-solving skills. Demonstrated data / quantitative analysis and interpretation skills. Demonstrated experience in delivering reporting and analytic solutions.

5. Service minded with ability to work with staff within all levels of the organization and collaborate in a demanding and changing environment.

Develop new and unique ways to improve data delivery, operations and to create new opportunities.

6. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications.

May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

Supports smooth and efficient practice operations, while contributing to BIDMC's promise of providing extraordinary care.

Communicates with patients, other employees and the general public in a courteous, helpful manner by phone and in person.

In addition to medical assisting, provides administrative tasks as needed, including but are not limited to greeting, check-in, and scheduling.

Assists patients who have physical and psychological limitations with ambulation and patient care functions.

Important Details :

Sign on bonuses are paid out in three payments. You will receive your first payment (one third of the total amount) within the first 30 days of employment and is subject to applicable taxes.

You will receive the second payment at six (6) months and the third payment (final third of total amount) one year following your start date and all payments subject to applicable taxes.

Full time status at BIDMC is considered for schedules greater than or equal to 30 hours per week; part time status is 20 to 29 hours per week.

Please note, per diem employees are not eligible for sign on bonuses.

Job Description :

Performs medical assisting duties which may include, but are not limited to, vital signs, height and weight, EKGs, performing phlebotomy and assisting during routine procedures.

Ensures that all patient care areas are clean, organized, stocked and ready for patient use. Escorts patients to ancillary service areas such as radiology and lab as needed.

Performs appropriate point of care testing, such as lab tests and specimen collection. Implements quality control standards to ensure proper functioning and accuracy of testing equipment.

Provides patients with relevant instructions for specific tests and procedures.

Monitors, orders and / or maintains medical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean, sterilized, stocked and within expiration dates.

Performs initial review of medication lists in the electronic medical record for final review by licensed practitioners. May retrieve schedule VI and over the counter medications only, under supervision of licensed providers;

is not authorized to perform licensed personnel duties, which include but are not limited to drawing up medications, medication administration or flushing IVs.

Uses the electronic medical record system (OMR) to queue prescription renewals for review by a licensed provider. As directed by a clinician, enters / scribes orders for tests, services or appointments in OMR.

During the visit, accurately documents tasks, as they are completed, in OMR to ensure proper billing (Facility Worksheet).

Prepares schedules, patient charts and other documents as needed for clinical activities, in accordance with Medical Center standards.

Procures and correlates medical correspondence as directed by department.

Monitors patients and visitors entering, waiting, and leaving the practice. Facilitates timely flow and informs patients and providers of delays in a timely manner.

Acts as liaison between patient and practice staff to ensure optimal flow and service delivery. Ensures waiting room materials are organized and stocked as directed by the department.

May answer and screen telephone calls.

Required Qualifications :

1. High School diploma or GED required.

2. 0-1 years related work experience required.

3. Medical assisting experience required through any of the following areas : MA, CNA (or LNA), EMT, PCT certificate, Associates Degree in Medical Assisting.

Current or former nursing or medical student who has completed at least one clinical rotation. Successful completion of BIDMC in-house competency program in 2019.

4. Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
