Position Summary :

Astound Broadband, a growing leader in telecommunications is seeking a Project Manager to join our Construction team in our Chicago market.

The Project Manager will assist all involved departments in the management of construction projects. This position will participate in the conceptual development of the project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Perform field walkout of Astound's Franchise Areas for the following : Routing options for building penetrations of coax and / or fiber, routing options for riser construction, MDU post wiring designs, infrastructure repairs for existing properties, and forced relates of RCN plant.

2. Verify system routing maps per design specifications in Astound's build area.

3. Ability to recognize and identify problems in the field, within the guidelines provided by Astound, that may pose concerns for the design or / or construction of Astound's network build(s).

4. Assist drafters in reading field maps while learning basics of AutoCAD drafting.

5. Assist other Astound field associates with various field tasks when required.

6. Prepare weekly and monthly production reports on results of work completed.

7. Schedule and manage the installation of all work orders which may include direct coordination with municipalities, landlords, customers and internal departments.

8. Maintain a positive representation of Astound at all customer meetings.

9. Manage contractor bidding, awards and payment for projects.

10. Supervise all contractors to achieve the survey / installation objectives, due dates and quality standards.

11. Project management support for other high-impact projects across SMB, Enterprise, and Residential business unit.

12. Maintain documentation and database for all SMB, Enterprise and Residential Survey requests and update as needed.

13. Manage all budgetary aspects of each project based on the capital & operational expense targets.

14. Create, manage and maintain all survey work orders to comply with local construction standards and insure construction completion dates are met.

15. Provide building design drafts for wire routing in apartments, building backbone wiring and laterals in accordance with Astound cable standards to Astound Network Designer(s).

16. Perform all work in a safe manner according to all company independent agencies municipal, state and federal safe work rules and regulations.

17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Education : High School or GED required. Bachelor of Science / Bachelor of Engineering preferred, or relevant
  • Work Experience : 7+ years with fiber-optic / telecom construction
  • Knowledge : General knowledge of RF Fiber / Coax hybrid design philosophy, understanding of general forward and reverse RF design architecture, understanding of loop-through and home run building design architectures, basic understanding of fiber optics in relationship to RF Network Design, and basic understanding of RF Distortion Calculations.

Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and related software.

Skills : Self-starter with proven customer service skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills. Able to clearly and effectively communicate through oral and written means.

Can work independently or as part of a team. Flexible to assignment changes and able to multitask. Ability to interpret design maps, schematics, engineering & utility plans and architectural drawings.

Ability to orient oneself between a location on a printed map and the actual physical location.

Working Conditions : Ability to walk over rough terrain when necessary, work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions, and work in confined spaces.

Ability to be able to lift up to 50 to 75 lbs. 10 to 15 times per day / shift. i.e. manholes, climb a ladder up to 10 to 15 times per day, and kneel up to 10 to 15 times per day.

Position Summary :

Join our dynamic team and help promote Astound Broadband, the #1 rated Internet, TV and Phone provider. This position oversees the Chicago, Chicagoland Suburbs and Evansville, Indiana footprints.

  • This crucial position will assist the residential direct sales team in tracking of sales processes as well as execution of sales and marketing events;
  • tracking sales data; maintaining inventory of promotional materials; planning and / or leading special events and trade shows;

maintaining sales calendar and databases; preparing reports as well as essential administrative duties. We’re looking for a creative, organized and enthusiastic self-starter who will own their initiatives and provide quality insight to become an integral part of the Astound team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate sales team activity by tracking schedules, documents, requests, processes and communicating relevant information to keep the team on track.
  • Ensure sales teams have the necessary collateral and resource materials to be successful in the field.
  • Compile and distribute daily leads to Field Teams.
  • Coordinate & attend Community events and sponsorships.
  • Liaison between Field Market Coordinator, Corporate Marketing Team and Field Teams on pricing, packaging, sales, and customer feedback.
  • Campaign and product launch support at the field level including QA , testing and training of field.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of previous marketing / sales experience; supporting a sales team preferred

  • Ability to establish strong interdepartmental and external working relationships with key contributors resulting in successful sales and marketing campaigns.
