The Associated Press seeks a motivated Project Manager to report into its Business Program Management Office in New York, NY.

The Project Manager will define all active business projects assigned to them and ensure that they are delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standard.

The successful candidate will be required to ensure adequate resourcing for projects, manage scope and risk, and manage relationships with project stakeholders.

It will be their responsibility to oversee the progression of tasks as agreed and defined in the project plan, as well as allocating project tasks to project members.

We are seeking an engaged problem solver, committed to driving projects to completion whether they are proofs of concept or customer change initiatives, or a combination of multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage and lead the project team.
  • Facilitate and lead project status meetings with timely follow-up.
  • Establish strong partnerships with various departments to support a positive communication process and workflow between teams.
  • Detailed project planning and control.
  • Manage project deliverables in line with the project plan.
  • Record and manage project risks.
  • Record and escalate project issues where necessary.
  • Manage the scope of the project as defined in the charter.
  • Undertake status reporting as defined by the PMO (e.g., monthly highlight reports).
  • Manage project budget (where applicable).
  • Ensure effective project communications (alongside relevant AP staff).

Desired Experience and Skills

  • 2+ years’ experience managing projects from initiation to completion.
  • Professional certification (desirable but not essential).
  • Proven success working with all levels of management.
  • Familiarity with AP’s revenue goals and teams (desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
  • Experience coaching and educating project teams to strengthen team members’ capabilities and skill sets.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of PM and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Asana, Basecamp).

Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required. Authorization to work in the US for any employer is mandatory.

Please note : AP is currently a hybrid office-remote workplace. This role would require the successful candidate to work from AP’s New York, NY office at least 2 days per week, subject to change.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $83,000 - $98,000, contingent on experience and other job-related factors.

Employees are eligible to participate, according to the terms of the official plan documents, in a 401(k) plan, employer-sponsored health insurance plan, and are eligible for paid time off and holidays in accordance with AP policy.
