What are we looking for?

As a reflection of our continued growth, we are pleased to offer this opportunity to join AZPetVet as Academic Relations Manager reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition.

This role is critical in the execution of our strategy to grow our family of providers and hospitals.

The Academic Relation Manager plays a pivotal role in driving campus engagement strategies across the country to foster collaboration and partnership initiatives between veterinary schools and organizations.

In this role, you are responsible for developing and implementing innovative strategies to enhance engagement with DVM students and faculty members.

These initiatives include hiring student representatives, building out a comprehensive student event calendar, and proactively identifying talented students early on in their academic careers to cultivate a pipeline for future hiring opportunities.

The Academic Relations Manager will be instrumental in promoting brand awareness and establishing the organization as a top partner within the academic community.

By strategically expanding the organization’s reach and influence, this person will contribute to our near-term growth and market development objectives.

How will you contribute towards the success of AZPetVet?

University Events

  • Oversee and manage the planning and execution of all campus events (i.e. campus presentations, social outings with students, and career fairs)
  • Responsible for career fairs, campus-related events, registration, and travel coordination
  • Connect and build relationships with targeted accredited DVM schools
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events and develop engaging promotional items to display & distribute on campus

Student Ambassadors

  • Act as the primary liaison to connect ambassadors with AZPetVet
  • Oversee and manage the selection process for ambassadors
  • Provide ambassadors with the resources they need to increase AZPetVet’s presence on campuses
  • Meet with ambassadors throughout the school year to discuss and plan upcoming events

Externs

  • Engage and direct students toward AZPetVet hospitals
  • Train new hospital leadership on externship expectations and processes
  • Build out each students externship schedule and notify all doctors who are involved
  • Develop an externship onboarding process to enhance candidate experience
  • Evaluate the program regularly with post-externship surveys

Do you have what it takes?

  • Education Level : Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Job Related / Industry Experience : 3+ years of industry experience
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal Including : Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews (structured, competency-based, etc.

This position will partner directly with senior leadership to uncover areas of opportunity and make recommendations that drive real business results.

Responsibilities

  • Directly partnering with senior leadership by analyzing, forecasting, and presenting key financial and operational data
  • Building business cases that justify investments, and then measuring performance against target to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Reviewing monthly financial and operational results, comparing to budget and prior periods with a focus on highlighting variances and opportunities to improve performance
  • General support of the FP&A leadership team as needed. Projects may include ad hoc modelling, forecasting, and ROI / NPV calculations for major initiatives
  • Having a full understanding of how key metrics are derived and how they are best interpreted
  • Enforcing data integrity, accuracy and governance in financial and management reporting

Minimum Education and Experience

  • BS in Accounting, Finance with FP&A experience in a mid-sized or large organization required
  • 5+ years of Finance and / or Accounting experience leveraging Planning financial applications to support finance processes and analyses
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required. Must be strong at financial modeling
  • Ability to find and pull appropriate data, along with validating and reviewing data and reports for accuracy and completion
  • Ability to excel in fast paced environment, take direction, and handle multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tableau experience
  • Desire to learn with a continuous improvement mindset
