Position : Logistics Coordinator

Reports to : Logistics Manager

Shift : 8 : 30am - 5 : 15pm Monday-Friday - on-call every other weekend

What you'll be contributing :

  • The Logistics Coordinator receives inbound dispatch calls and assists in outbound order scheduling administration for customers.
  • This position assists in solving shipment problems for customers and sales personnel in an administrative capacity.
  • The position must be able to work nights, evenings, and weekends as required.
  • Promotes and follows all aspects of safety guidelines and participates in meetings.
  • Schedules drivers and dispatches tankers timely to provide customer service and promote customer satisfaction.
  • Takes customer orders and assists in resolving customer and carrier concerns.
  • Works with team to accomplish daily goals and tasks for the efficient operation of the dispatch department.
  • Creates and maintains an environment where the customer and carrier feel comfortable and look forward to communicating with the Dispatch department.
  • Maintains current log of daily shipments and receives shipping reports and keeps Logistics Supervisor informed of any problems or potential problem areas.
  • Furnishes details of shipments and checks shipments to ensure correct customer information. Maintains up-to-date account profiles.
  • Helps research ticket issues for eventual approval by Logistics Manager on pricing for returns, diversions, and additional freight and price deviations.
  • Works inside the Customer billing system entering new customer accounts and providing related reports

To succeed in this position, you will need :

  • Minimum High School or GED In lieu of degree / diploma equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred 5 Years of experience in an office environment.
  • Preferred 2 years of customer service / inside sales experience
  • Knowledge of office computer software applications and good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to make decisions and to exercise sound independent judgment in arriving at a conclusion
  • Ability to perform, organize and prioritize work under general supervision
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to work on routine duties with standard procedures and policies
  • Ability to refer to Supervisor / Manager when in need of clarification or interpretation

What to expect in a cement environment :

Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures.

Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
