How You Will Help :

This role is responsible for various Warehouse duties (outlined below, but not limited to) as follows :

  • Weighing packages and labeling them appropriately according to customer specifications within UPS and / or LTL program.
  • Completing packing and order forms with the relevant shipping information within UPS and / or LTL program.
  • Inspecting packages to ensure they are not damaged.
  • Keeping records of packages including delivery notes, invoices, etc.
  • Sealing shipping containers and labeling them appropriately.
  • Operating a stand-up forklift truck to pick and package all customer orders consistent with company standards. (Training available for forklift)
  • Loading outgoing material and unloading incoming material.
  • Receiving and putting away all incoming material. Move material to new locations as needed.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures and utilizing appropriate equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations in responsibility area.
  • Performing other duties / tasks as needed / assigned.
  • Must follow all safety practices and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

What You Will Have :

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior experience in a distribution environment using UPS and / or LTL programs is preferred.
  • Valid forklift license is not required but is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high transaction volume, fast paced environment.
  • Possess positive team attitude and willingness to help approach.
  • General knowledge of computers, navigation, data entry, etc.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed to meet department needs.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds without injury or harm.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 65 pounds in weight.
  • Excessive walking and prolonged standing.
  • Repetitive reaching, lifting, pulling and pushing.
  • Repetitive kneeling, stooping, bending, and squatting.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Forceful gripping, grasping, and twisting.
  • Repetitive use of both hands, possibly for entire shift.

This is a warehouse environment with varying temperatures throughout the year.

Education and Experience : High school diploma or equivalent and 1 - 3 years of experience in a machine shop environment.

Language Skills : Ability to read and understand both written and oral instructions, e.g. operation travelers, safety notices and rules, operating and maintenance instructions, etc.

Mathematical Skills : Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply all basic shop math functions.

Reasoning Ability : Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to interpret blueprints and sketches.

  • Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; bend; kneel; crouch (bend at knees);
  • walk; use hand / fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; reach above / below shoulder;

turn head sideways, up and down; good eye / hand / foot dexterity; climb ladders / stairs; and talk or hear. The employee must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Annual eye examinations may be required.

  • Capable of standing while operating equipment up to 12 hours daily
  • Willing and able to work overtime as required
  • Willing to work any shift as necessary

Work Environment : The work environment consists of a number of assembly, torch cutting, welding and machine shop areas.

While the Company makes every effort to reduce and eliminate all safety hazards, this type of environment does involve safety hazards, which require extra care on the part of the employee.

Such hazards include, but are not limited to : moderate to high pressure test gases, high electrical voltages; chemicals;

and sharp objects, such as might be generated around machine tools. The noise in the work environment is moderate to high.

Temperature extremes are regulated, but not as closely as typical indoor offices. Personal protective equipment is provided.
