Position Summary : The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the school building, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students, faculty, and staff.
The Custodian will perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties along with providing assistance / coordination of set up and take down for school events.
The Custodian will work closely with building maintenance to ensure that all cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed to high standards.
Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned) :
- Locks and unlocks doors at the specified times and turns on lights to open school in the mornings.
- Sweep, Mops and vacuum hallways and entrances on a daily basis or more often, as directed, in inclement weather.
- Assists with snow removal from school property as directed as well as maintaining outdoor areas sweeping sidewalks and picking up litter.
- Perform routine maintenance items like checking / replacing light bulbs in corridors, classrooms and by exits.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the cafeteria, kitchen and all school related equipment including cleanup after lunch hours.
- Sets up events with requested table and chair arrangements for special functions, moves other furniture and equipment as directed.
- Assists with takedown of school events, including moving tables, chairs and cleaning up after the event is finished.
- Assumes general responsibility for assigned areas but takes care of other areas as need dictates.
- Ensures equipment and supply storage areas neat and orderly as well as keep maintenance inventory stocked.
- Keeps maintenance equipment in good, clean, working condition.
- Cleans sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors and replaces toilet supplies as needed.
- Responds to emergency clean up needs in a prompt manner while complying with OSHA regulations regarding the proper disposal of body wastes and / or fluids.
- Reports any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate school personnel.
Education / Experience Required :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred but willing to train a motivated person.
- Must be able to communicate effectively as well as possess a strong ability to work well with others.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, moving heavy objects along with standing for long periods of time.
- Occasionally must be able lift, carry, pull, push, and / or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities for Social Worker
- respond effectively to crises affecting students and faculty
- provide mental health and behavioral counseling to students
- recognize and appropriately take care of individual students' socio-emotional challenges
- submit referrals to outside agencies as necessary for students' well-being
- coordinate and facilitate groups for students, such as for improving social skills or addressing behavioral challenges
- complete regular reports for services provided, such as session notes and incident reports
- collaborate with administration and teachers regarding needs of students with IEPs and 504 plans
- collaborate with teaching staff, administrators, and parents / caregivers to determine how best to meet individual students' needs via needs assessments and ongoing communication
- facilitate classroom lessons regarding the holistic needs of students
- work with school faculty and staff to develop plans for maintaining the well-being of individual students and of the student population as a whole
- provide proactive services in the domains of social emotional learning, college & career readiness and academic development
- abide by the ASCA code of ethics and follow the ASCA National Model for school counseling programs
- Qualifications for Social Worker
- master's degree in counseling / Social Work

- This is a part-time position for 2-3 days a week and flexible in scheduling.
St. Edward School is located in the northwest part of Chicago near both the Kennedy and Edens expressways and walking distance to both the Metra and CTA Blue Line trains.

Working Conditions :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently move, stand, and lift up to 10 pounds. As well as be able to walk up and down steps several times each day and physically respond quickly in an emergency.

Position Summary
As Recruiter for the Archdiocese of Chicago, you will be responsible for full-cycle recruitment for our Pastoral Center & Office of Catholic Schools.
You will own and manage the overall candidate experience by sourcing, screening / interviewing, scheduling interviews, and supporting the offer stage and onboarding process.
The successful candidate will work across all departments within the Archdiocese.
Responsibilities :
- Act as administrator for the applicant tracking system
- Post, maintain, and update open positions on the Archdiocese website, as well as third-party websites such as LinkedIn and Indeed
- Partner with recruiters and sourcer on the recruitment team to build a robust and consistent talent pool to find qualified candidates, both active and passive
- Attract and source passive candidates
- Search resume databases for ideal candidates
- Pre-screen and present qualified candidates to recruiters and / or hiring managers
- Communicate effectively with hiring managers, internal and external stakeholders and collaborate across departments serving as the main point of contact for all parties throughout the collaborative hiring process
- Schedule and track interviews with candidates and hiring managers
- Request and follow up on pre-employment background checks
