Role Overview

Our Privacy practice is a rapidly growing part of the Data & Technology segment of our business. The Senior Director will help our clients address their data privacy challenges, including conducting privacy risk assessments, creating policies and procedures, building data inventories, reviewing, and interpreting regulatory changes, developing consumer response processes, implementing technology, and assisting organizations through privacy related regulatory investigations.

This is a remote based position.

Responsibilities :

Lead day-to-day activities of engagements including interaction with other team members, subject matter experts, external counsel, and client contacts.

Manage all facets of client engagements, including project planning, work stream supervision, budgeting, and billing.

Create project status summaries, reports, metrics, written analyses, assessments, and other presentations of work performed.

Create and update policies and procedures to support compliance with various regulations.

Actively participate in and lead internal and external team meetings including client assessments, presentations, and status meetings.

Manage time and tasks to meet internal and external deadlines.

Develop privacy program strategy for client engagements, using a privacy framework and supported by a working knowledge of applicable privacy regulations and requirements.

Mentor practice members to enable their professional development and continued growth.

Develop standardized metrics, methodologies, and other work product to be delivered by client project teams.

  • Oversee delivery of engagements related to Privacy Technology implementations, integrations, and configurations; privacy by design;
  • Software / Solution Development Lifecycle (SDLC) integration; privacy source code analysis; website and application compliance;

and Privacy Technology training and adoption.

Develop and deploy methodologies to advise clients on integrating data protection by design principles to the SDLC, including requirements elicitation, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing administration and maintenance.

Develop and deploy methodologies to advise clients on applying consent models to cookies, pixels, beacons, and other tracking technologies for websites and mobile applications.

Develop and deploy website scanning strategies and technologies; recommend and implement technical measures to support compliance with consent and preference management obligations.

Develop integration strategies between privacy technologies and privacy-adjacent solutions such as those used by Human Resources, Enterprise Architecture, Analytics, Marketing, and other business functions.

Develop and deploy anonymization, pseudonymization, and encryption capabilities to support privacy obligations.

Conduct / lead client interviews, ensure that the team develops appropriate pre-meeting materials and conducts background research, and mentor practice members in client environments.

Build relationships with other Ankura professionals and participates in industry events where subject matter expertise is requested.

Interact with Ankura team members in the US and within global business groups to ensure client needs are met.

Ensure clients are provided high-quality services from all levels of the team and provide an appropriate level of oversight and review of client reports and deliverables.

Maintain a professional image within the company and project the same to those outside of the company.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with a solid academic performance

7+ years of experience managing large, complex data privacy or compliance engagements

7+ years of experience in a consulting environment preferred

Knowledge and experience developing and managing key privacy deliverables such as : Data inventory registers, Privacy impact assessments, Privacy training, Cookies solution

Deep knowledge of privacy regulations and frameworks (, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and their practical implementation.

Proven track record of successfully leading, managing, and developing a team of privacy consultants or professionals.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex privacy concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Project management experience including understanding of project life cycles (PMP or other project management certifications)

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify privacy risks and develop practical solutions.

Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification (preferred)

Demonstrated thought leadership through publications, presentations, or contributions to industry forums.

Willingness and flexibility to travel as required

For individuals assigned and / or hired to work in California, Colorado, or New York, Ankura is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.

This compensation range is specific to the said markets and considers a broad range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

The range does not include additional benefits outside of salary. At Ankura, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range is between $110,000 to $240,000; this range is not a promise of a particular wage.
