Position Title : Data Scientist
Business Line : Data & Analytics
Reports to : Advanced Analytics & Data Science Lead
Basic Purpose :
The Data scientist is a member of the analytics team whose focus is to build custom calculation engines, cleanse datasets and build reports and dashboards supporting the ESG and other quant business users.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Partner with business teams to understand and document requirements, processes and workflows developing both written and visual depictions of requirements and process flows
- Work extensively in python and additional statistical packages to develop solutions for business problems statements.
- Deploy code to analytics platform using self-service deployment or partner with the technology team for dev-assisted deployment.
- Intermediate level knowledge of docker and Jupyter notebooks / Jupyter Hub
- Engages with business quant teams in a consulting capacity to train / help build analytics solutions including Machine Learning models
- Builds Tableau Data Models utilizing best practices, ensures data accuracy and ability to blend with other certified data sources.
Maintains data sources on Tableau Server.
- Understand the reporting framework (Tableau) and partner with Enterprise reporting IT team to build & deploy reports and dashboards.
- Evaluate data sources and technology options, recommend appropriate solutions.
- Perform data analysis, data mapping, and develop ad hoc queries.
- Write SQL queries, stored procedures and scripts, ETL jobs.
- Perform QA testing of developed deliverables and assist with User Acceptance Testing
- Partner effectively with all levels of the organization and be responsible for direct interaction with internal business users.
- Manage the prioritization, logging and tracking of user related issues, defects, enhancements and work requests
Job Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Physics
- Minimum of 5 years in investment analytics
- Minimum of 5 years business / data analysis and / or system development experience
- 5+ years’ experience in the financial services industry
- Strong development skills in Python
- Strong SQL skills
- Strong Excel skills
- Exposure to AWS cloud environment
- Strong analytical skills, problem solving and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Maintain a strong commitment to quality
- Tools used : Microsoft Office, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Tableau suite, Python, Microsoft Visio, ESP Enterprise Scheduler, Docker and Airflow, Jupyter , Scikit, Pandas

Once Here You Will
- Under the guidance of the Lead UX Designer, strategize and execute the product vision by being heavily involved in the end-to-end product design process
- Surface the underlying needs and motivation of our users to ensure we achieve business goals and provide value
- Design an intuitive and elegant experience that empowers our clients to make confident financial decisions
- Work closely with our research team to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data and make value-driven design decisions which then translate into clear, simple UIs
- Create and present a variety of design deliverables (sketches, wireframes, user flows and prototypes) in a way that engenders confidence in you and your solutions within the team and the greater organization
- Design holistic solutions that integrate seamlessly into our Wealth Management product ecosystem
- Design and deliver responsive / adaptive solutions that are optimized for web and mobile interfaces and partner with engineers to translate designs into successful products
Relevant Experience and Mindset :
- An outstanding portfolio that demonstrates how you have created experiences that solved business and user needs 4 years of experience as a UX designer as a key contributor to the success of products that have launched
- Bachelor’s degree in design or related field;
- Master’s degree is a plus Fluency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC and InVision
- You thrive in a collaborative, explorative environment and value being on a diverse team that you can bounce ideas off of, get critical feedback from, and unite to mature design thinking in a large organization
- You practice active listening and contribute to group situations (brainstorms, audits, critiques, whiteboard sessions, etc.)
- You have a high tolerance for complex projects with high levels of ambiguity and you are resilient in the face of obstacles
- You have a relentless desire to validate assumptions and uncover a problem : root cause by testing, learning and iterating.
