What to expect as a Commercial Security Service Technician :

The Security Service Technician will be responsible for service, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting / diagnostics on access control equipment and IP based video systems including but not limited to : electrified and non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary door devices, IP and analog cameras, head-end video recording devices, wired and wireless systems and intercom systems.

Travel to Commercial client sites to service, repair, troubleshot and detect access control equipment and IP based video security systems.

Including but not limited to :

  • Electrified and non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary door devices, IP and analog cameras, head-end video recording devices, wired and wireless systems and intercom systems)
  • Troubleshoot system installations in a such a manner as to identify issues and to apply the most effective and efficient resolution consistent with company installation standards;

identify and repair physical security systems as required to ensure operability and compliance with any applicable building code

  • Apply all necessary documentation for tracking of service related issues
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools, analog / digital test equipment and CCTV testing devices
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics, CAD drawings and related documents for their use in low voltage applications
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Provide phone and on-line remote diagnostic support
  • Drive to commercial client sites, with a company issued vehicle, to perform service
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Management

What knowledge and skills are required :

  • High School Degree, Vocational School or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of field experience
  • Experience with any or all of the following preferred : Software House, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Brivo, Milestone, Exacq, Axis, Bosch, Commend, DMP, Open Options, Notifier, Fluidmesh or ONSSI
  • Possession of state specific licensing (i.e. Class D or Alarm Installer etc.) or ability to hold license once hired
  • Understanding of Windows operating systems and overall IT network topology
  • Highly proactive and skilled individual, and at all times maintain performance consistent with Allied Universal Technology Services (AUTS) core values
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast based environment with minimum direction

Allied Universal® Technology Services is looking to hire an and Applications Engineer. The Applications Engineer is responsible for software specific support of our installation team to include the integration / interface of multiple disparate software applications into fully functioning solutions.

This position will be responsible for all levels of systems head-end commissioning, upgrades and advanced diagnostics to achieve the defined functionality of systems operation.

The Applications Engineer should be capable of utilizing existing SDK's and / or API's to ensure the desired level of integration and should be capable to perform customized integration between software applications.

The Applications Engineer's schedule will be coordinated by the Operations and Project managers to be effectively and efficiently utilized.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Capable of advanced integration between disparate electronic security systems
  • LAN & Network configurations experience to include wireless communications system.
  • Perform systems diagnostic and troubleshooting duties to ensure a fully functioning system
  • Work with Project Managers, End Users and Technician team to provide assistance in regards to the software systems
  • Troubleshoot project issues and engage appropriate resources as needed.
  • Escalate significant issues to management team as needed.
  • Work with Project Management team to coordinate project and work schedules to ensure project efficiencies
  • Work with Operations Manager to schedule and maintain appropriate licensing and software trainings for professional development
  • Take the lead in End User Software training

Knowledge and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, BA / BS Degree preferred
  • In depth knowledge of industry leading security system and equipment providers
  • Certification with major enterprise level security / access control systems preferred
  • Decision-making and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to read and understand advanced technical information / documentation
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint and Word)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized

Allied Universal Technology Services is hiring a Project Manager to plan, organize, direct and control project-planning and performance activities for effective management of electronic security installation.

Projects include, but are not limited to, all aspects of systems scheduling, field installation, commissioning QC / QA and financial success.

Responsible for overall project budget management, project surveys, material procurement, project implementation and inspection scheduling.

The Project Director must be capable of executing portfolio of projects varying in size and high degree of complexity on time and within budget through effective communication, preparation and management.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Maintain an active and thoughtful communication pattern with vendors, internal and external customers while balancing time versus profits to make sure efforts reflect and anticipated return (revenue, growth and customer retention)
  • Consistently and effectively determine, allocate, and maximize available resources through project planning to ensure the achievement of sales and project management objectives
  • Establish and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the industry and competitive practices as they relate to multiple markets
  • Implements changes in project, contract price and installation plans to include the estimation, development and submission of Change Orders
  • Support company's invoicing and collection efforts by not only ensuring all contractual terms and conditions are met initially, but by ensuring all invoicing is completed accurately and on time by aggressively monitoring the reports in ERP System and following up with customers management and customers on a consistent basis
  • Manage Project budget and project P&L responsibility
  • Prepares the project installation plan, determines goals, manages the plan, prepares and implements job procedures
  • Maintains construction schedules and coordinates task-scheduling with other trades
  • Maintains all records of job status, job changes and material flow
  • Defines project problems by working with financial, contract management and management tools to assure project profitability
  • Plans and schedules engineering, installation and subcontracting activities
  • Supervise installation labor and sub-contractors
  • Prioritize team workload to ensure quality results are delivered on time and within budget
  • Troubleshoot project issues and engage appropriate management and resources as needed to mitigate impacts
  • Develop fallback and contingency plans

Pay range - $130,000-$150,000 annual

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred
  • At least six years of project management experience, electronic security industry experience is preferred
  • A proven track record and verified references relating to the ability to manager 4+ Million Dollar projects to schedule and budget.
  • Expert knowledge of PM techniques and tools, general knowledge of contract laws and regulations.
  • PMP from the Project Management Institute, preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, and perform tasks of moderate to high complexity, which requires knowledge of technical and business environments.
  • Factory certifications in relevant technology platforms is a plus (Software House, Lenel, Brivo, Open Options, Exacq, American Dynamics, Milestone, OnSSI, etc.).
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project and SharePoint).
