Powerplant Planner

SummaryThe Powerplant Planner is responsible for planning the removal and installation of engines and APU, coordination of the movement of powerplants between Allegiant and repair shops, and coordinating between Powerplant Engineering, Fleet Planning, Materials, Component Repairs, Aircraft Records, and other departments that deal with powerplants.

The Planner reports to the Powerplant Engineering Manager. The Powerplant Planner also liaisons with repair vendors to minimize engine and APU turnaround times.

  • Work with Powerplant Engineering and Fleet Planning to execute and manage Allegiant’s plans for scheduled / unscheduled engine removals for the effective utilization of spare engines and APUs.
  • Coordinate planned / unplanned engine removals with other maintenance plans, Powerplant Engineering, Line and Heavy Maintenance, and the engine and APU repair vendors.
  • Issue Engine and APU removal report and status updates.
  • Work with Powerplant Engineering to schedule inspections and repairs as needed for fleet health.
  • Assist Powerplant Engineering in the preparation of vendor repair / overhaul instructions package.
  • Monitor vendor turnaround time performance, and coordinate shipments to and from vendors with other departments.
  • Coordinate the build-up of engines and APUs with Line Maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure stored engines, APUs and related components status is updated per storage and preservation requirements.
  • Assist the Aircraft Records Department in tracking engine life-limited parts.
  • Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction.

SummaryThe Flight Safety Specialist reports to the Manager of Flight Safety for the daily management, implementation, and execution of projects and programs within Allegiant’s Safety Management System (SMS), including ASAP, Event Reporting, pilot Line Operations Safety Assurance (LOSA) and airport risk management as they relate to Flight Operations, Dispatch and the Operational Control Center (OCC).

  • Perform data analysis using data from various Safety Assurance programs to measure and report on the effectiveness of risk controls.
  • Complete safety data requests as requested.
  • Develop and maintain content for the periodic safety data review process.
  • Perform airport risk management and various airport safety-related initiatives and projects.
  • Develop and maintain various means of safety promotion content and delivery method for Dispatch and Flight Operations.
  • Process and prepare fatigue reports for review by the Fatigue Assessment Team, Fatigue Risk Review Committee, and Fatigue Safety Action Group.
  • Develop and monitor systems and databases for the FO-FRMP as needed.
  • Assist in the development, analysis, and trending of FAR Part 117 required reporting.
  • Develop and maintain Fatigue Training for Part 117, FRMP, and FRMS requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Regulatory Compliance Team as needed.
  • Perform duties as an active member of the Emergency Response team when requested.
  • Attend and present at the semi-annual industry Aviation Info-share safety forum.
  • Review current best practices from FAA and industry sources for practices applicable to Flight Crew Operations and Dispatch.
  • Conduct airport risk assessments for all airports within the Allegiant network, including scheduled destinations, charter destinations, maintenance locations, and alternate airports, to identify hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Track the progress of airport construction projects.
  • Perform proactive risk analysis of aircraft operations on the ground by assessing the suitability of airport facilities, including taxiways, ramp areas, and parking areas.
  • Coordinate with operational teams to manage risk associated with flight operations within the airport and terminal environment.
  • Develop and monitor systems and databases for management of airport risk as needed.
  • Work with and track collaborative projects with the Air Traffic Control Coordinator and OCC Meteorologist.
  • Establish and maintain internal databases of Flight Operations and Dispatch safety data to assist with data analyses, trend identification, and corrective action plan development.
  • Monitor / track safety recommendations, IEP findings, FRMP, ASAP, self-audit, employee injuries, and corrective actions to ensure that effective follow-up actions have been taken.
  • Participate in department safety meetings and safety initiatives to include taking minutes, attendance, and facilitation.
  • Facilitate the bi-annual and continuous Line Operations Safety Assurance (LOSA) observations.
  • Maintain databases with LOSA observation data, and identify report classifications, and action relevant trends.
  • Assist and support department management with the development of continuous improvement efforts, documentation of processes, procedures, and controls of Allegiant’s SMS, and maintaining policies and procedures in the company’s safety manuals.
  • Participate in industry Safety forums such as InfoShare and the International Air Safety Summit.

Accelerate Pilot Pathway

Summary The Allegiant Accelerate Cadet is a collegiate student in their Senior year with an authorized University's aviation training program.

Cadets are within 1 year of graduation from an approved Part 141 program that have successfully interviewed and been accepted into the Accelerate Program.
