Dispatcher
Overview
AIT is seeking a Dispatcher I ! We are flexible on start time, if needed along with extra hours to be earned on the weekends, if applicable.
The Dispatcher I is responsible for overseeing and documenting the pickup and delivery of local shipments, as well as coordinating and communicating shipment information between drivers and delivery agents.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for routing local freight, dispatching drivers, performing dock checks, tracking shipments, working with dock staff members to ensure movement of freight.
- Timely event data entry of shipment milestones into MyAIT & AS tracking system pickup, delivery, obtain proof of delivery.
- Provide customer service to identify and meet specific customer needs. Answer / make customer inquiry calls and address customer concerns / complaints.
- Assign driver load planning based on local mapping & appointments accordingly.
- Identifying and coordinating the prioritization of rushed / urgent / last minute shipments.

Other Skills We Hope to See :
- High School Diploma / GED equivalency required; Associate Degree or equivalent preferred.
- 0-3 years in Freight Forwarding industry experience preferred and / or industry experience in customer service / operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Previous Experience working with AS preferred.
- Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills with abilities to develop new ideas and innovative solutions.
- High attention to details and organization.
- Strong geographic and mapping skills. Sense of direction and coordination to build routes.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills with customers, drivers, and co-workers communication is key!

The schedule for this position is Wednesday - Saturday 8 : am to 6 : pm
