This position is full time in Chattanooga, TN, in the heart of the industrial area that keeps Adorama, an employer of choice, for all staff levels at this facility.

The Chattanooga facility is the company’s largest at 230,000 square feet!

Job Summary

The Lead oversees and coordinates the activities of the team responsible for assigning orders. This position will be based in our picking department but will have functions within the picking, put away, and shipping departments.

Every day we want to process and handle each shipment like it is our own personal item, taking the time to inspect and follow processes, but understanding there is an acceptable deadline to process to keep our customers happy.

What will you do?

  • Maintain harmony among workers and resolve labor issues to create a positive work environment.
  • Support track and document employees’ attendance and performance compared to department metrics.
  • Supports project teams in-process quality activities by educating, coaching, and mentoring others on process improvement philosophy, tools, and application.
  • Identify and reward employees’ strengths and develop their opportunities with regular coaching and counseling to improve negative performance.
  • Determine daily plan, balance workload, and prepare schedules to expedite workflow.
  • Solve problems that arise daily and show flexibility and ingenuity to meet deadlines.
  • Make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment while keeping a focus on what is in the best interest of customers.
  • Ensure correct shipment of national, international, and hazardous material orders by following legal regulations and company policies.
  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Study and standardize processes and procedures to improve the efficiency and accuracy of workers.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as put away, picking, inventory management, and quality assurance, to ensure the achievement of daily goals.
  • Ensure safety of all personnel, equipment, and property. Provide safety instruction to personnel as needed. Assure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations.
  • Assign orders in the picking department.
  • Utilizing JIRA software daily.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

  • It is a full-time position, and the hours of work and days are typically Sunday through Thursday. (10AM Close)
  • Fridays will be required to work only during peak season or special closings during the work week
  • Saturday off
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule and stay later as needed to ensure customer demand is met

Adorama Shipping is looking for Warehouse Associates to join our team.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Responsible for accurately and efficiently receiving product shipments, stocking, accurate picking of product, packing, and shipping to salons while meeting company standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

Warehouse workers will, on any given day, perform any of the below listed functions. Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.

Picking

Accurately pick product using RF scanner from a variety of locations including : Shelving, Carton Flow Rack, Forward Case Pick, and Replenishment / Put-away and place in a container on a conveyor belt.

Cut open boxes of replenishment and deposit at appropriate picking locations.

Packing

Organize and properly pack pick boxes in preparation for shipping.

Shipping

Load trucks from palletized products and / or conveyor line.

Truck

Safely operate a variety of power equipment to transport product throughout the warehouse.

Receiving

Unload and break down inbound product, receive inbound merchandise, and process returns.

Inventory Control

Perform parcel QC inspection, cycle counting, location error adjustments, product transfers, reports / queries, consolidation, error investigation, and item & location maintenance

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Basic communication in English
  • Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50+ lbs.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions including non-airconditioned warehouse
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, reach, and climb using ladders
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours or more per shift
  • Able to meet all productivity standards
