Specialty Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
The Specialty Mechanical Engineer will support the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) in Oak Ridge, TN.
What You Will Do :
- Produce design and procurement documents of specialty and first of a kind equipment (gloveboxes, furnaces, high vacuum systems, metal casting / machining equipment, etc.)
- Perform engineering design tasks
- Develop build to print design drawings
- Develop equipment specifications
- Create associated calculations and analysis with machine design (e.g. finite element analysis, structural and seismic analysis, ergonomic studies, kinematic calculations, and heat transfer calculations)
- Develop procurement documents
- Hours will be 6AM - 4 : 30PM, Monday - Thursday
- Position will be full-time with no expected travel
What You Will Need :
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience with design / specification of custom mechanical equipment
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in 3-D engineering / modeling and machine design experience (preferably with gloveboxes, furnaces, high vacuum systems, and metal casting / machining equipment)
- Experience with engineering calculations / analysis associated with machine design (e.g. finite element analysis, structural and seismic analysis, ergonomic studies, kinematic calculations, heat transfer calculations)
- Active Q Clearance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Reporting Relationships :
The incumbent will report to a senior-level engineer or technical manager. This position has no direct reports.

Recruiter
Job Description
The Recruiter is an integral part of the ABS Talent Acquisition team. The team member functions as an HR professional and routinely interacts with all levels of management, including executive team members.
Additionally, the team member will primarily support ABS Group, which offers consulting services within various industries.
This role will work out of our new corporate headquarters in Spring, Texas, three days per week. The other two days (Monday and Friday) allow the team member the option to work remotely.
What You Will Do :
- Support ABS Group's hiring needs within the United States to attract talent with a strong sense of urgency.
- Leverage experience to primarily recruit candidates in Engineering, Operations, Business Development, Risk and Reliability, Financial Services, and Cyber Security.
- Proactively create staffing strategies and identify alternate methods for attracting candidates to assigned open positions, including passive ones.
- Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, and employees.
- Work professionally with other HR team members, including Recruiters, Coordinators, HR Business Partners, Compensation, and HR Management.
- Report weekly on assigned openings, via standardized reporting and live sessions, with members of the management team and Human Resources.
- Responsible for assigned openings from the requisition creation stage to the offer creation and acceptance stage.
- Operate as a business partner to ABS Group and take the initiative to learn the business and how talent acquisition impacts the operation.
- Partner, on occasion, with College Recruiting to identify to help attract recent college graduates or interns to ABS Group.
- Expected to guide members of management, as needed, as it relates to interviewing and hiring talent.
What You Will Need :
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree at a minimum is required.
- At least five (5) years of recruiting experience is preferred. Candidates with considerably more experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Prior experience recruiting for a consulting services firm is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems, especially ORC or Taleo, is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledgeable of employment law as it relates to Talent Acquisition and hiring.
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees and the confidence to provide guidance and feedback regardless of title.
- Must be able to professionally and positively work in a diverse environment where respect for others is the expectation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines simultaneously.
- High self-motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced, results-focused, collaborative environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 20% with advanced notice is desired.
- Ability to learn the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
It Would Be Nice If You Had
- Prior experience recruiting for a consulting services company where speed of hiring can be essential to obtaining a new client.
- Exposure to recruiting metrics includes Time to Fill, Time to Hire, and Time Open.
- Using an Applicant Tracking System to approve and post roles, present candidates, create and extend offers, and others.
Reporting Relationships :
The professional will report to the Director of Global Talent Acquisition. In addition, the professional will work closely with members of HR, including the HR Director of ABS Group, and HR Business Partners.
The professional should be comfortable working in a collaborative environment where team members constructively interact frequently with one another.
Working Conditions :
The work environment will primarily be an air-conditioned office setting requiring the employee to sit for prolonged periods while talking on the phone, reading from a computer monitor, and typing on a keyboard.
In addition, the team member may occasionally lift items that weigh up to 20 pounds. Sometimes, the team member may be asked to travel by way of common transportation to recruiting or other work-related events.
