Job purpose

The Senior Manager of Warehouse Operations and Logistics is responsible for all areas related to warehouse operations and distribution.

  • This role is responsible for the overall operational administration and management of C&F Enterprises Chapman warehouse;
  • assisting in developing and implementing strategies for improving key performance indicators including pick rates, accuracy, incident rates, overtime, and damages / returns;

Duties and responsibilities

Provides strategic leadership for integrated logistics, supply chain management and distribution operation for the company.

Assist in the implementatio0n of all warehouse operations, including logistics, shipping and receiving, safety and emergency action plans.

Champions, initiates, and drives strategic objectives to remove barriers and adapt current process to facilitate improvement and change management.

Drives culture of accountability through daily assessments and operational evaluation.

Provides leadership through effective communications, coaching and development while comparing results to goals and taking appropriate action to correct when necessary.

Establishes effective procedures and controls for the safe and efficient movement of inventory including; customer service, inbound / outbound rack handling, warehousing, packaging, shipping, storage of finished racks, transportation management including carrier selection / agreement management.

Supports maintaining a safe working environment and focuses on safe work habits; ensures adherence to established procedures to ensure C&F Enterprises safety guidelines are followed.

Ensures an accurate inventory of products at all times through a maintained inventory control system.

Develops documents, and executes standard operating procedures.

Cultivates a high performance, result-oriented culture by maintaining positive working relationships with all internal and external customers.

Responsible for managing and growing customer-focused team members.

Leads the development of and maintenance of the logistics policies and guidelines.

Drives continuous improvement on established logistic strategies and implements value-added logistic services.

Coordinates with vendors to manage activities in order to meet service level expectations.

Ensures that logistics are in compliance with United States Customs and Border Protection regulations.

Transforming and improving the information flow, system, tools and process related to the physical movement of product.

Drives key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuous improvement throughout the logistics operations and service provider supply base.

Manage all aspects of people development for logistics personnel.

Create and implement effective strategies and lead teams toward achievement of business and warehouse objectives; aligning with Department Leadership Teams.

Establish long- and short-term strategies of operations including training, development, process improvement, over a broad spectrum of support needs.

Provides guidance and direction to Supervisors in the overall performance management of employees.

Responsible for the performance review evaluation process for Logistics team.

Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, market activities, and competitors.

Maintains a focus for self and team on continuous learning that will enhance skill sets and growth opportunities.

  • Unpacks, checks quantity and condition of incoming parts and materials.

Performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Work involves most of the following : verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting, and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations;

storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage, and preparing it for shipment.

  • Responsible for organizing backup stock locations and assisting issue / turn-in areas.
  • Helps to maintain workstation : breaking down boxes, and cleaning work areas.
  • Performs daily assigned work supporting customers ensuring satisfaction. Continuously handles flow of customers to ensure that all customers are in the appropriate lines and assist with special help as warranted.

Greets customers and maintains a pleasant, welcoming attitude.

  • Greets delivery drivers, verifies invoices with supply requisitions.
  • Assists in conducting monthly inventories. All items in the warehouse are counted and documented on a control sheet.
  • Assists with maintaining general cleanliness of warehouse area.
  • Moves inventory into and out of the warehouse, as needed. Moves inventory between locations within warehouse. Ensure all equipment is stored and stored in a safe manner.
  • Ensure daily maintenance is performed on all forklifts and vehicles.
  • Process receipt and DLA Disposition documents.
  • Responsible for relocating and removing materials without damage and in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading trucks utilizing the forklift or pallet jack.
  • Responsible for transporting materials from their point of origin to their destination as specified in each work order and issued in a timely manner.
  • Operators are proficient with the operation of material handling equipment in and around Fort Eustis, CIF.
  • Back-up support for heavy trucking functions; operate tractors and semi-trailers, tractors and full trailers, trucks with dolly converters, and full trailers.

Included is the transportation of various military equipment and transporting of overweight and oversized loads.

  • Operators shall observe and obey speed limits and other safety regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all materials are safely and efficiently, loaded, transported, and unloaded.

Qualifications :

  • Working knowledge of a retail warehouse experience is preferred.
  • Must have a basic working knowledge of storage requirements.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team.

Requirements :

  • Valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

Job Summary Responsible for all systems and activities involved in the receiving, storage, and shipping of products by the Bunge Oils located in Sandston, VA.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities : · Responsible for the daily operation of all logistics functions, including personnel training, auditing, and work assignments · Execute good manufacturing practices while promoting a safe working environment and maintaining sanitation standards (GMP and HAACP) · Ensure safe operation and safety of all material handling equipment.

  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse and coolers by planning and maintaining routine housekeeping schedules, complying with GMPs
  • Continually identify and implement short and long term cost savings opportunities, in the areas of distribution and warehousing, that

do not compromise quality
