Duties may include, but not limited to :

The housekeeping role will primarily take place indoors, throughout all areas of the skilled nursing facility, including patient rooms on multiple types of flooring.

Due to the nature of facility’s business, worker may be exposed to occasional slippery floors, object on floors, chemicals, sharp objects, hazardous materials, and waste (including human), blood borne pathogens, and communicable diseases, as well as high-stress medical and / or life-threatening situations.

Investigates patient / family complaints and takes appropriate actions to bring to a resolution.

Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance workflow, and / or improve the work environment.

Assist in maintaining a facility that is always neat in appearance and odor free.

Clean (including vacuuming, wiping, mopping, polishing, etc.) rooms, offices, and common areas; polish and straighten items;

confirm residents’ rooms are safe, comfortable, and maintained in an attractive manner and residents’ personal items are safeguarded.

Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and / or recreational areas including the disposal of garbage daily in accordance with facility established sanitation procedures.

Clean up spills, soiled areas, and other conditions as observed or directed.

Maintain work area free of hazardous conditions, i.e., spills, excessive supplies, equipment, etc.

Maintain work and storage areas in a clean, neat, sanitary, and safe condition.

Requirements :

High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.

Practical knowledge of day-to-day cleaning in a long-term care facility.

Effective verbal and written English communication skills.

Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.

Ability to deal with new tasks without the benefit of written procedures.

Approachable, flexible, and adaptable to change.

Function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with staff and vendors.

Physical Requirements : Push, pull, move, and / or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a minimum height of three (3) feet and be able to push, pull, move, and / or carry such weight a minimum distance of fifty (50) feet. (Not a complete list)

Preferred Skills : Environmental Service experience in a long-term care setting preferred, but not required.

Work closely with Human Resources to recruit, interview, and onboard new team members.

  • Create and review the department schedules, ensure the property is staffed sufficiently to handle anticipated business, and assist where needed.
  • Work with all departments to meet their needs as it relates to Housekeeping.
  • Field guest concerns, listen, and extend assistance to resolve matters and deliver a thoughtful and enjoyable guest experience.

Resolve complaints in person, by phone, or through written message. Develop relationships with return guests, group contacts, and other guests to provide personalized service.

Fundamentals

  • Education : A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel Management, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience : 2+ years in a similar role within a lifestyle brand hotel operation, with a proven advancement record, and currently employed in a management position.
  • Effective leadership skills to engage, motivate and develop staff. Must be able to delegate, set priorities, utilize a team to execute short and long-term plans, and establish accountability in a team setting.
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by business needs.
  • Skilled in the use of advanced, moderately complex, Property Management (HMS) and Time & Attendance Systems.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including follow-up, time management, ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to positively communicate and interact with all hotel departments, external vendors, and guests.
