At Avalanche Studios Group, we are looking for a Senior Game Designer - Engagement Team to join our team to work on our upcoming AAA title Contraband - a co-op smuggler's paradise game set in the fictional world of 1970s Bayan.

Contraband is a brand-new IP published by Xbox Game Studios. Avalanche Studios is the division dedicated to ambitious, externally published, AAA open-world games like the Just Cause series, Mad Max and Rage 2.

The Position

As a Senior Game Designer, you will be asked to take on a variety of implementation and feature design challenges to help bring great gameplay and live experiences to players, such as :

  • Experience of the entire product life cycle from concepting and prototypes all the way to driving results across frequent post launch live experience
  • Will be accountable with creating and deploying successful gameplay and systems to drive enhanced player acquisition, retention and monetization strategies.
  • Data-driven design prowess to influence live game systems and economie
  • Author, development and unify live game design across all team
  • Work with Product Owner and Product Live director to evolve existing designs to increase KPIs (eg. Retention goals, Monetization conversion rates).
  • Collaborating with coworkers and other teams (design, art, animation, programming, etc.) to align on expectations and execution
  • Identify trends and evaluate the suitability to our current games.
  • Playing the game and becoming an authority on how the game play

To thrive in the Game Design department, a successful candidate needs to be willing and have the ability to learn new tools and workflows.

You can motivate both yourself and others, you are articulate, have strong conceptual skills and the ability to communicate ideas visually and verbally.

You need to have a passion for games and an ability to articulate that passion clearly and analytically.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a game design role with at least 2 years in live operation
  • Proven ability to contribute to releasable gameplay in a production environment
  • Proven ability to iterate and change gameplay based on feedback
  • Proven ability to create viable design solutions on paper
  • Experience prototyping as well as production

The role is a key part of BSE Global’s Game Presentation team, a group that leads high-level event production for internal and consumer-facing events.

This position is responsible for ensuring event attendees have an unforgettable experience and we maximize the opportunity to foster brand affinity at Barclays Center and across Brooklyn.

The Director will develop close working relationships with the Content, Creative, Brand and Consumer Marketing teams to ensure we are amplifying priority Marketing initiatives at our events.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Serve in a leadership role in coordination with the VP, Game Presentation and Senior Director, Entertainment to guide planning, communication, and programming for BSE Global events
  • Develop impactful concepts and activations that bring to life internal & partner priority initiatives
  • Steward video strategy and production for all events, in alignment with the Content team
  • Oversee the creation of a department production calendar, timing sheets, rundowns, scripts, and other production related documents, distributing to key stakeholders as appropriate
  • Develop process and communication with Basketball Operations to ensure we are achieving their goals and appropriately showcasing our players & key game storyline
  • Work with Partnerships to develop, pitch and execute programming elements that drive revenue, elevate the fan experience, and achieve partner objectives
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Barclays Center control room, including a physical presence leading up to and during games to ensure seamless communication
  • Oversee the relationship with various technology, production and operational vendors
  • Help bring to life our Nets Fan Engagement Tentpoles at Barclays Center, inclusive of Nets Unite, Friday Night Live, Kids Games, Opening Night & Fan Appreciatio
  • Support production for in-market events such as viewing parties, corporate events, Practice in the Park and community events
  • Research and stay apprised of Game Presentation trends across professional sports leagues, implementing new and innovative programming at BSE events

WHO YOU ARE :

  • 7+ years’ experience working in live events, sports and event production
  • Understanding Sports & Entertainment live event presentation is strongly preferred
