Forklift Operator
Position Summary : Drives gasoline, liquefied gas, propane or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform,
or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
Abides OSHA and FSC rules and regulations for safety, including seatbelt use.
Wear typical protection gear in an environment that contain dust, odors and noise.
Work well under pressure.
Drive truck and control movement to lift apparatus in close quarters.
Move product utilizing material handling equipment pallet jacks and forklifts.
Assemble and stage product orders.
Load and unload delivery vehicles.
Inventory materials on work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.
Lubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank and / or replace liquefied gas tank.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Demands
Required to stand for long periods of time and walk frequently.
Must be able to frequently lift and / or move objects of 50 pounds or more.
Must be able to cover other shifts / overtime as necessary.
Must be able to bend and squat frequently.
Must be able to stand for 8 hours or more daily.
Required Knowledge and / or Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Minimum of 5 years of experience and / or training; Or combination of education and experience.
Ability to read English.
Ability to read blueprints, picklist and orders.
Ability to work and communicate effectively with others.

Forklift Operator
Description
JOB OVERVIEW :
Must be able to communicate and work effectively in a team environment. Must be able to follow instructions (written & verbal), safely and accurately complete assigned duties, and maintain company standards.
Responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks, receiving materials and products, and picking, packing, wrapping, labeling, and / or shipping products using forklift and pallet jack.
Maintain receiving / shipping logs and makes sure that incoming and outgoing products and material are in good condition.
Move materials to the production area using the FIFO standard.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS :
Must be able to operate a forklift in a safe manner.
Loading and unloading trucks.
Receive material.
Moving material.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Demonstrate and promote a solution based positive attitude in meeting goals and objectives.
Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained with an eye for detail.
Promote and ensure a safe work environment

Must pass forklift written test and driving skills test.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Requires high school diploma, or equivalent.
Requires six months previous forklift experience in a big box environment.

The employee must have the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects using arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups to a maximum of 50 pounds.

We are hiring immediately for an experienced Forklift Operator for 1st shift (6am 2pm) for its envelope manufacturing facility in Chicago, IL.
Forklift Operator Pay & Schedule
- $17.50.hr + depending on experience
- Schedule is Monday Friday (Saturdays required based on business needs)
Forklift Operator Responsibilities & Daily Duties
- Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near warehouse, plant, or work site.
- Receives, unpacks, and examines goods shipped and verifies completeness of shipments
- against bills of lading, invoices, and other records.
- Notifies supervisor of any major incidents of damage to materials received / scheduled to be shipped.
- Prepares identifying information and shipping instructions on containers.
- May assist in contacting transportation companies to order or schedule deliveries and shipments.
- May assist with computerized inventory of received / shipped goods to provide status reports to management, sales, suppliers or customers as required.
- Prepares and disperses cycle counts required for warehouse team then enters the counts.
- Other duties as assigned / required.
Forklift Operator Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Requires frequent standing, walking, carrying, bending, stooping, grasping, and reaching.
- Ability to lift / carry up to 50 pounds and push / pull up to 1200 pounds on a skid with pallet jack.
- Manual dexterity required to grasp objects utilizing manual dexterity including hand / finger coordination, and the utilization of color vision.
- Must wear safety shoes constantly.
- Regular attendance and the willingness to work overtime as needed.
