Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Environmental Compliance Professional in any of our major West Region office locations. The selected candidate will join AECOM’s EHS + Air practice within the Environment Business Line.
The primary emphasis of the group is to support clients with their EHS regulatory compliance needs for a variety of federal, municipal, and private-sector clients.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and be responsible for the following :
- Supporting EHS business development efforts, including preparation of technical and cost proposals, to grow our environmental compliance work with existing and new clients.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients to enhance client retentions and growth.
- Managing and executing environmental compliance, auditing, due diligence projects for clients in the consulting industry.
- Mentoring junior staff and leading project teams for environmental compliance work.
The successful candidate will have :
- At least 4 years of multi-media environmental regulatory compliance experience (e.g., CWA, RCRA, CAA, etc.) and its application (i.
- e., conducting multi-media compliance audits and providing corrective actions; developing environmental compliance plans, SOPs and programs;
supporting permitting and associated obligations, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience conducting third-party multi-media audits for clients as a consultant.
- Demonstrated experience managing clients and supporting EHS business development efforts, including preparation of technical and cost proposals, to grow our environmental compliance work with existing and new clients.
- Demonstrated experience managing all aspects of the project from proposal through execution to close, to include financial and contract management (i.
e., developing proposals / cost estimates, managing clients, projects, and project teams; coordinating resources and managing subcontractors; etc.).
Ability to mentor junior environmental professionals to execute various compliance projects.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant environmental and / or STEM-based discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education in multi-media environmental regulatory compliance experience.
- Ability to local, regional and out-of-state travel up to approximately 1 week per month to conduct environmental compliance audits.
- Valid U.S. Driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications :
- The candidate will have at least 7 years of multi-media environmental regulatory compliance experience (e.g., CWA, RCRA, CAA, etc.
- and its application (i.e., conducting multi-media compliance audits and providing corrective actions; developing environmental compliance plans, SOPs and programs;
supporting permitting and associated obligations, etc.).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPEA, CHMM, PE, CEP).
- ISO 14001 experience.
- Experience with health & safety regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
The Environmental Analyst will be responsible for compliance with state and federal environmental program requirements including air quality, SPCC (spill prevention, control, and countermeasure), remediation and waste management.
This position involves evaluating the potential environmental risks associated with natural gas operations and developing strategies to mitigate those risks.
This position applies practical job knowledge. Usually works independently under general supervision and requires the ability to influence others in the work area by explaining facts, policies, and practices.
The problems faced are difficult but generally not complex.
- Develop and implement environmental programs and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze air, water, and soil quality for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Lead spill reduction planning and manage spill cleanup.
- Manage SPCC (spill prevention, control, and countermeasure) and storm water permit planning and compliance.
- Assist with waste management and compliance.
- Interface with agency personnel during inspections, inquiries, and environmental events.
- Communicate environmental data and analysis to stakeholders.
- Conduct research and analyze data, identify emerging environmental issues and trends, and implement best practices.
- May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and / or support employees.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of TRRC (Texas Railroad Commission), TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) and federal programs related to oil and gas production.
