Our group works on diverse programs including domestic and tactical military base energy resilience, microgrids - energy systems that can operate independently from the bulk electric grid, cyber security of control systems that interface with energy systems, and development of advanced energy technologies.

The group leads systems analysis efforts focusing on the gaps between infrastructure and operational requirements, executes live exercises for testing energy and cyber resilience posture, fields functional prototypes, and builds hardware-in-the-loop and real-time simulation testbeds.

Projects are conducted in an intimate and small team environment, leveraging expertise from within Lincoln Laboratory to successfully execute nationally important and cutting-edge efforts.

Our group is seeking highly motivated entry level scientists and engineers who are interested in solving challenging technical problems.

Typical activities for our analysts include an array of tasks from energy systems modeling, data analysis, algorithm development, and hardware prototyping and demonstration support.

We seek a candidate who will be flexible and proactive in developing / implementing leading-edge techniques for processing and analysis of varied data sets, working to develop new concepts and designs as program needs dictate.

The candidate will work with an experienced and interdisciplinary team to learn about the energy systems group mission while developing and taking ownership of a career path matching their technical interests.

Requirements

  • B.S. / B.A. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field with a strong background in physical sciences.
  • Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as MATLAB or Python
  • Ability to work independently or as part of team

Desired Skills :

  • Prior real-world data or systems analysis experience
  • Experience in modeling, design, and / or prototyping of energy systems, renewable energy sources, and power electronics
  • Experience in data collection, signal processing, and the physics of sensor operation
  • Strong public speaking or technical communication
