Helix Electric has need for a dynamic Electrician . The successful electrician will be part of a production driven team, performing electrical installations and troubleshooting.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION :

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES & SCOPE :

• Responsible for assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial settings.
• Prepares work area for installation of equipment.
• Installs electrical components.
• Connects wiring and equipment as per code and job specification.
• Operates equipment only if trained and certified to operate. (Note : Powder activated tools, and JLG lifts and other operations that may require certification and training before operating).
• Sets up and operates tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers and cable vacuum systems.
• Be able to read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified.
• Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances per drawings or plans.
• Secure and lock up equipment after use.
• State Journeyman Electrician Certification is a requirement in states where required or considered highly desirable in states without this requirement
• A proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget.
• Excellent working knowledge of the Building Codes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & REQUIREMENTS :

• Job requires wo Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow.
• Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves always), respirator when required.
• Able to work 8-10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime, and night shifts as required.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required.
• Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
• Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.

PRIMARY FUNCTION : To be acquainted generally with theory and operation of electrical equipment and with maintenance, repair, adjustment, testing, and installation of such equipment.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT : Hand tools, power tools, test instruments and circuits, power and transportation equipment, pipe threaders, safety equipment, motor and controller test equipment, etc.

MATERIALS : Electrical hardware and supplies, apparatus, lubricants, coolants, insulation, replacement parts, wire, solder, tape, conduit, fitting, switches, relays, etc.

WORKING PROCEDURE :

• Receives and competently follows prints, diagrams, instructions and orders.
• Carries out duties of maintenance, repair, adjustment, testing, installing, dismantling, cleaning, lubricating, cooling, and heating all electrical equipment and circuits.
• Maintains, repairs, adjusts, installs, replaces and cleans motors, motor controllers and circuits.
• Makes periodic reports to supervision on condition of equipment.
• Works on hot lines as required.
• Installs conduit, fittings, switches, controls and fixtures, and wires and connects all types of electrical equipment.
• Uses safe and orderly methods and proper equipment and safety devices.
• Does electrical trouble shooting and analyzing.
• Makes emergency repairs so that plant downtime is at a minimum.
• Works in shop or field.
• Keeps record of work in log form
• Keep work areas clean.
• Crane Repairpersons who bid or move to the General Electrician occupation may be reassigned by the Company to do Crane Repair work as needed.

Qualifications

CTC Crushing is in need of a full-time Industrial Electrician to add to our maintenance crew! This person who fills this role is responsible for performing quality maintenance on plant equipment, troubleshooting electrical problems, and supporting the daily maintenance of the aggregate crushing plant equipment (including conveyors and screen plants).

Requirements for this position include :

• 2+ years of experience as an Industrial Electrician
• Experience with frequency soft starter controls & frequency drives
• Competency in the National Electric Codes
• Reliable transportation
• Comfortable working in a mine environment (outdoors, extreme weather conditions)
• Must be a hard worker!
• The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday from 7am-4pm. Will need to be flexible / on-call for a few overnight shifts per month, as needed.*

Position Requirements

Education, Training, and Experience

1. High school graduation or other equivalent (i.e., General Educational

Development (GED), foreign equivalency, etc.).

2. Completion of apprenticeship as an electrician; or,

Journeyman certification as an electrician.

Licenses and Certifications

1. A valid driver’s license that allows the applicant / employee to legally operate a

motor vehicle in Nevada. License must be maintained for the duration of the

assignment.

2. Copy of current driving history (dated within six (6) months from the date printed)

issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) at the time of application or

Qualified Selection Pool (QSP) placement and at the time of interview prior to

final selection.

3. Current First Aid certificate from the American Heart Association, American Red

Cross, or similar organization. Certification must be maintained for the duration of

the assignment. Certification training must be in-person and include a hands-on

component. Online courses will not be accepted. A copy of the front and back of

the First Aid certificate must be uploaded into the application.

4. Current CPR / AED certificate from the American Heart Association, American

Red Cross, or similar organization. Certification must be maintained for the

5. Forklift certification from the Clark County School District. If certificate is not in
