On Demand Courier Dispatcher
This position is responsible for ensuring that contract drivers are dispatched to each pick-up and delivery destination within agreed upon schedule.
It is important that the individual has the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately recall and document appropriate information in the dispatch system.
This position may alternate between dispatching and customer service duties based on daily business requirements. This position will have contact with contract drivers (owner / operators) and with customers daily.
Day, Night, and Weekend shifts available. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Stay updated with contract driver check in / check out Assign drivers pick-up and deliveries and monitor driver activity to best meet specified pick up and deliver schedule.
Contact and communicate with drivers through phones and / or two-way radios. Keep track of the progress that drivers make from and to pick-up and delivery sites.
Real Time follow-up with contract drivers on all pickup and deliveries. While in transit, follow up with driver to gain insight into destination time.
Re-route drivers as needed to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery. Communicate and with drivers as needed to meet customer delivery and pick expectations.
Responsible to execute delivery instructions based upon appointment schedule required by customer Maintain proficiency in using computer tools, driver tracking tool and other common office equipment and software.

Maintain proficiency in using computer tools, driver tracking tool and other common office equipment and software. Be available to drivers to answer any questions, inform them in case there are traffic jams, provide directions and overall communication.
Maintain BOL, paperwork, collect COD’s and Manifests as required for assigned shift. Take inbound calls as necessary, route call internally to sales, billing or other internal staff.

Primary Job Duties for the Operations Warehouse Operations Supervisor would include :
- Lead the night sort operations of 8-11 people to ensure all packages are identified, sorted, and staged accordingly.
- Responsible for making sure every box is scanned, sorted to correct location, and accounted for.
- Ensures the work area is clean, organized, secure, and safe at all times.
- Maintains positive relationships with employees and drivers with a variety of personalities.
- Communicates any issues that arise in the workplace and escalates any abnormalities.
- Provides feedback to management on the status of operations verbally and / or through email communications.
- Ability to complete all tasks and set up next shift for success.
- Have a daily morning "handoff meeting" with 1st shift supervisor to make sure he / she is good before you release everyone.
- Tracks productivity levels of the overnight sort team which will ensure budget and costs are in line.
- Ability to communicate and effectively motivate individuals who need extra training to ensure they are meeting productivity levels and following guidelines related to "best practices".
Skills Required : Ability to carry out your daily agenda with limited supervision, proven ability to multitask, highly developed organizational skills, excellent communication skills, rapid response to issues, attention to detail.
Computer Skills Preferred but not required : Microsoft Office Suite and ability to diplomatically communicate via email with any internal and external customers as needed.
- Personal Skills Preferred : Proactively minded with strong attention to detail; Able to learn quickly, work independently and cohesively with others with minimal supervision once you learn the operation;
- Excellent written and verbal communication; Ability to be trained and utilize a forklift safely; Physically be able to bend, squat, and stand during shift and lift up to 70lbs;
Individuals with excellent attendance and habits of being on time is a must. Will train you on everything else!
