Our client is currently seeking a UTILITY / cleaner / house keeper / Dishwasher / maintenance
Hours are 8am-4 : 30pm. 1 / 2-hour lunch. NO driving required, CORI will be required; HS Diploma required; Some use of basic hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, electric drill, etc.
Dollies / carts will be available for lifting and moving; Position may go thru September-
The Utility worker may be required to work any station at the dishwasher. Fill, empty and cleans machines after being properly trained by a Harvard manager.
Clean conveyor belt and disposable unit. Properly setup and maintain the bussing area. Clean the dish room. Mopping, trash removal.
Throw trash into designated receptacles. Properly stow / stack all dish room items in designated area. Checks dishwasher temperature gauge.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned. Previous experience preferred. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Must be able to work independently and multitask in a fastpaced, team environment. Must be able lift, carry and move at least 50 pounds without restrictions.
Demeanor should be poised, enthusiastic and professional. Must be able to work well under general supervision and demonstrate independent and good judgement in the performance of assigned tasks as needed.

Reports directly to Group Leader-Sanitation. Responsibilities include the operation of equipment used to clean as it relates to patients, cafeteria and the main kitchen.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Cleans dishes and equipment in a safe and sanitary manner following department policies and procedures.
- Uses the following equipment : flite-type dishmachine, pot and pan machine, cart washer, powered floor cleaner, fryolator fat filter, and general cleaning equipment.
Informs supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment.
- Utilizes approved cleaning agents in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Works in the dishroom emptying soiled patient tray trucks, cafeteria trays, rinsing and stacking dishes, loading and unloading the dishmachine and putting clean dishes away in their designated areas.
- Works in the pot and pan area rinsing, washing and sanitizing pots, pans and utensils and putting them away in their designated areas.
- Works in all kitchen and cafeteria areas cleaning equipment, floors, walls, refrigerators, etc. in accordance with department standards.
- Follows established policies for cleaning and sanitizing all small wares and equipment.
- Disposes of trash into appropriate receptacles in a safe and sanitary manner throughout the production and other designated areas.
- Make deliveries and pick-up of items upon request (ie : to and from the purchasing unit, maintenance department, etc.).
- Prepares kitchen and cafeteria areas for monthly pest control inspection.
- Attends meeting and inservices as scheduled.
- Follows department dress code policy.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP : Reports to and works under the general direction and supervision of the Cleaning Supervisor.
PURPOSE
Provides for the accomplishment of a variety of cleaning tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
- Ability to use common cleaning tools and equipment, lightweight vacuum cleaners, and other light, powered cleaning equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety. Complies with all fire, safety, health, sanitation and other rules and regulations. Maintains good work practices in areas supervised.
Custodial. Specific instructions are provided on what to clean and the methods to use.
Performs the following tasks :
- Cleaning of Commissary offices, storerooms, corridors, stairways, restrooms and other areas.
- Cleaning of production equipment.
- Sweeping, dry mopping and scrubbing of floors, using brooms, mops, lightweight vacuum cleaners and lightweight floor scrubbers.
- Dusting, waxing and polishing of furniture.
- Emptying wastebaskets.
- Cleaning doorknobs and other metal fixtures.
- Washing walls, windows and blinds that can be reached without climbing ladders.
- Cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing lavatories, urinals and toilet bowls. Cleaning mirrors sinks and water fountains.
Replenishing deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels and soap.
- Dusting ledges and woodwork.
- Cleaning of outside grounds. Sweeping and picking up trash, emptying ashtrays and in inclement weather, shoveling snow from stairs and walkway and applying deicer in needed areas.
- Places soiled uniforms at pickup point.
- Checks condition of restrooms and reports to supervisor broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains and other conditions requiring maintenance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Work involves light physical effort, such as that involved in using vacuum cleaners and dry mops; running lightweight powered scrubbers;
continually standing, bending, stooping and reaching; frequently lifting and emptying wastebaskets; frequently pushing carts and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to about 50 pounds.
Majority of the work is performed indoors, but outdoor work is required periodically with the possibility of exposure to inclement weather, including below freezing temperatures during the winter.
Wet surfaces pose the risk of slips and falls.
