Under the Bakery Manager’s supervision, a Baker prepares and bakes high volume bakery products using standardized recipes and performs other related preparation and sanitation duties as required.

Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.

Position Information

Summary : Prepares and decorates all baked goods according to recipes.

Essential Functions :

• Prepares baked goods according to recipes
• Monitors food cost controls
• Consistently adheres to Clark County Health District regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements :

Qualifications / Requirements :

• At least two years of experience as a baker or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• Knowledge of cost containment procedures
• Knowledge of Clark County Health District regulations and procedures and food safety
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Ability to read and follow recipes
• Familiarity with bakery equipment and ability to operate it

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Decorate quality 85C Baked goods.
• Maintain a clean and healthy work environment.
• Perform daily operations, including but not limited to : separating, filling and baking.
• Teamwork, follow direction and work together with the store management team to deliver outstanding service.
• Provide sufficient breads and maintaining quality to meet 85 C standard and completing designated tasks perfectly.

Job Summary :

Responsible for making a wide range of breads, pastries, and other baked goods, maintaining the high quality that the company is known for, while remaining in compliance with all Clark County Health Department and OSHA rules and company policies and procedures as they pertain to the position.

Essential Job Functions :

• Prepare and bake all bakery items following standardized recipes
• Decorate and finish all cakes, pastries, and baked goods house specifications
• Rotate products as needed
• Report malfunctioning equipment to Executive Pastry Chef
• Operate, clean and perform minor maintenance on baking machines and equipment
• Keep records of products made and used
• Assist in developing test recipes
• All other duties that may be assigned

About the Baker :

• Rise and Shine! This role is the lynchpin to our team - rising (like our amazing bagels) while much of the world is still asleep to begin preparing our delicious bagels and bakery treats!
• The Baker is responsible for overall product inventory and baking processes in the store.
• Maintains consistent inventory and flow of bagels while supporting daily catering goals.
• This position works with team members to understand the expectations of bagel products, proper handling, new directives, and customer orders.

What we are looking for :

• Early risers!
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of restaurant, retail or customer service experience required preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
